PAIN following my WD....need suggestions

Ive finally stopped feeling WD....this morning I woke up and my whole body hurt like never before. I was addicted to snorting opana BTW. I think I did it on and off (mostly on) for about 11 months. It became everyday in september and really hasnt stopped till now aside from two three day attempts to deal with my WD. This time I invited my ex over to take care of me. It made a world of difference to not be alone, have some distraction and someone whos been through it to talk to when I wanted to complain about my crawlies and chills....etc....BUT this morning I feel like Ive been hit by a bus. Its actually not as uncomfortable as WD so thank god for that. Now I need to kmow what to do about this pain. I realize my body hasnt had to feel anything for quite sometime, so how long till I readjust and feel like Im 32 and not 97??? Even when I move I hear bone crackling like Im an old rocking chair. UGH. Any suggestions????

Try also taking 1000mg of calcium citrate a day.  Warm to hot baths really help with epsom salt and It sound wiered but I also use niite time baby bath stuff and then go straight to bed.  Also protein shakes help too as long as you do slow stretches and a little bit of exercise even if it hurts but do it as tolerated.  Your muscles are hurting cuz of the brain thing but the protein helps the build and repair the muscles. Hope this helps.  :)

I think having company over for my wd was what got me thru. I get dizzy like Im drunk once in awhile but for the most part I feel totally better. No cravings, no real wd symptoms, no pain. Pain lasted two days. I thought it would last longer. I take golden seal and drink fruit smoothies everyday. Dunno if thats what helps but I feel fine. I also prayed. Im not religious but I prayed anyway and was fine the very next day. It was a miracle. Crazy. Now I hope I can help someone else.  :)

Heating pad!! We laid on ours for about 2 weeks and it really helped a lot. I hear ya I am 35 and totally felt like I was 100. We are on day 50 and I would say the nagging aches and pains went away around day 20 or so but got better each day. We probably ate a whole bottle of advil between the two of us. I would also lay on the floor in front of the heater vent with a blanket on me and let the hot hair get trapped under the blanket haha althought his never lasted long because the kids thought I was making a fort and come attack me on the floor. But it really was the heating pad that worked the best for both of us.
Good Luck!!

Thanks everyone.....I guess the pain is like...mostly in my torso. My back cracks like I havent moved for days or something?? Its weird. My abdomen hurts like I did too many sit ups. I feel like a disk in my spine is about to slip. Just random aches like I have the flu or something. This didnt happen before when I wd. Im just thanking GOD the crawlies and anxiety are gone. I remember thinking, I started this pain med due to hurting my back. It was given to me by my mother who has chronic pain. Someone told me if I snorted it that it would work better. I havent been on DRUGS since I was 18. Went to rehab and been clean ever since. I honestly didnt know Id become addicted to opana. Not wise of me I suppose. Then again it says on the rx bottle, "dont give this med to anyone else" I cant blame my mom though. After I realized I was addicted, which was five days after start opana...I shouldve stopped, but I knew nothing back then. I wish I wouldve found this site a long time ago. I did my last whole pill Sunday. And only took 1/8 monday and 1/16 tuesday. Today the icky feelings are gone and the pils are too. I have no desire to take any opiates. Just something for my aching body. Ill try the bath tho. Thanks again.

I'm sorry, what day are you on for being clean? Bananas, lots of water and juice, and especially walking helped me (oxy WDs). Being hit by a bus doesn't really allow for you to "feel" like walking, but exercise is the number one thing getting me through these days. Accupuncture really helped me too (I don't follow the mystic part of it, but the physical part literally helped me go from a painful panicky state sometimes to a peaceful minimal pain one).

Seriously, if you have a treadmill, or can get out, walk as much as you can without hurting yourself. Everything else written on here is helpful too. It is hard dragging yourself even from one room to the next to take a bath, but once your in, you feel a little better. Niacin, Valerian Root, and OTC sleep aids helped me recoup a bit too as the body needs to rest. The Niacin gives you a itchy flushing sensation for about 5 minutes, then it's gone. Finally, I had a whey or soy protein shake almost every day. I added banana, granola, and ice to make it a little tastier.

Hang in there. Keep posting because these people do care, and the advice is solid. Today is my day 30, and I was just telling someone last night that God really used this site to help me get to this day. My journey is far from over, but day 30 is another universe compared to day 3 ;)

Praying for you, David

Epsom salts are very good for you. They help draw the magnesium into your body. You need that badly. Bananas are also great and easy on your stomach, if you are still having any issues there.

Stick with it. Stay tough. I'm sure you will get many more responses. Maybe explain what pain you have? That would help as so many of these folks have found OTC meds that help.

Good luck.

Epsom salts, so I've heard, work when mixed into a bath.

Never tried it myself, but whatever... go with it!

Take a hot bath. Take some Ibuprofen. Sit in front of the fireplace (not too close mind you!).

Keep in mind that a lot of the pain is in your head. It's your mind/body's way of telling you that you need to take some more pain medication. It takes a while for your body to realize you're not just going to pop or snort to relieve the pain, and until the realization comes, you'll continue to feel the pain. It's a part of WD's, although on the backside of them.

Taking a hot bath./shower helped me a lot during this time in my recovery, so I'd advise you grow accustomed to spending a lot of time in the tub!

Good luck.
