So,you're on Sub now but don't want to purchase it illegally anymore and want a pain management doctor to help you...Is that right?
I wouldn't do that. If anything, you need a doctor who specializes in Sub.
How much do you know about Suboxone?
I think your best bet is to wait until someone with actual sub experience can help you decide what might be best for you. I'm sure that person will reply to you soon so don't lose hope!
You need a physical therapist, start yoga, and don't turn to a pill to solve your problems. Pills only temporarily cover the problem and you could potentially injure yourself even more. If you don't feel any pain because you're on pills, you'll strain yourself more than you would if you actually felt the pain.
I was addicted to pills (that a pain management Dr. was prescribing me) for 3 years. Once he decided he was going to cut me off, I turned to the streets which turned into a 7 year drug binge. Now I'm in recovery but the pain hasn't gone away and still needs to be dealt with.
The bad news is, nothing is going to completely take away your pain like the narcotics did. So gear up for some manning up. But there are steps you can take to heal your body instead of covering up the pain. After all, wouldn't you like to at least try to heal yourself now before you are 60 and you are forced to be on pills because your pain is so bad?
I hope you do. I hope you feel better real soon.
The doctor that I am going to see is someone who specializes in helping patients with an addiction problem.
That's good to hear. I doubt that he/she would ridicule you. Don't you? Addiction specialists are very empathetic, special people from my experience.
It's hard to get from one room to another some days I'm sure, but I can attest that walking (I do the treadmill), a better diet, and things like stretching and Yoga do help. In fact, after WDing for the first (and prayerfully the last) time over Christmas, I was scared to go to my first Pain Management doc. To my surprise, he was thrilled I was off the meds even though we'd never met. He even told me they had an accupuncturist on site. I told him I had gone to see one a few times and it really helped. It really, really, helped.
Hang in there. Really, hang in there. Keep posting. Good words seem to flow from this place just at the right time. Be encouraged. :)
