I got very addicted to pain killers due to torn rotator cuff and bad arthritis. I don't know how you feel about it but I went to an addiction psychologist and have been on Suboxone. They literallly saved my life. I have gone from 2 pills a day down to 1/2 pill a day with no problem. If not for these pills, I don't know where I would be today. Do research on Suboxone and see if you think it is something you would like to try. There is a world of info out there on them. They are not for everyone I suppose but they certainly made my life much better. Just look into it.
I also had severe pains in my joints from taking hydro that lasted for quite awhile after my WD. I think that our bodies have an exaggerated response to pain because we mess our pain receprors up from the opiates. By day 4-5 you should be starting to feel better as far as chills sweats, diarrhea ect. but the pain in the joints lasted for awhile for me. Actually when I had to take them after surgery in Nov. for less than 1 week the pains came back. Don't know what that's about but it does get better. Keep trying and never give up. GBU, Corey
what were you originally given the norco for? Are you sure the pains you are having are not just WD? I was misdiagnosed as having fibromylagia because I kept complaining of severe body pains all over. Turns out i dont have fibro, i was just in WD and didnt know it at the time. and btw you say you keep hitting day 4 or 5 and then go back to using-- DONT! those are typically the WORST days for WD and then the pain subsides GREATLY and you start to get back to some sort of normalcy as far as body pains and digestive issues. Try hanging in there a few more days next time and see if you can make it. Eventually youre going to have to get off them right? YOu cant stay on them the rest of your life can you? do you want to? Probably not. SO theres no time like NOW to quit them. Its a New Year upon us, why not NOW? Good luck to you and keep us posted!
