HELP

Please help! I have been addicted to painkillers for years now. It started when I hurt my back many years back, and a friend gave me some painkillers, and I have been hooked ever since! I am a mom of three, and now have to take them just to function normally. I don't even get high off them, they just give me the energy to deal with the massive workload I have. I now am taking Tramadol to help ease withdrwl symptoms of coming off oxycodone 30mg,{about 6 a day}, I am only on day 1, and I don't want to loose my family. My husband doesn't know, and I feel like I'm all alone, please help! Any advice would be appreciated, THANKS

hi, first off i think you need to tell your husband, you might find that he has already suspected whats been going on, i know mine did.  telling my husband was like a weigh being lifted off my shoulders.  as ella said above the thomas recipe and the amino acid protocol where a big help and eased withdrawels slightly for me.  i am on day 6 and for the last 6 days i have lived and breathed this forum, its a wealth of knowledge and experiences, it kept me going through the hard times, although i only found the courage to write my first post today!!

If it is possible for you to tapper off the tramadol, ( some people can't tapper )  then tapper off of them,  be prepared to go through the withdrawls within 24 hrs of your last dose.  They hit hard so be prepared, the Thomas recipe ( lower right bottom of screen) you will need the clonidine and some tranzene if you can get your dr to prescribe them for you.  If you tell him what you are doing, then perhaps he will help.  Some of the people on here didn't use clonidine , I was fortunate that my dr. helped me with that.  My son helped me get a few tranzene.  Everyone in my family knew what I was doing, no way for me to hide it.   Perhaps your husband will understand if you explain that you want to be free from them.   I am very grateful that I do not have young children to take care of,  the first week I just did what I was able to do around here ( very little)
Post often,  ask questions...

Knowing you HAVE TO GET CLEAN IS THE FRIST STEP, your DR. can help with a script to help with the w/ds , check out the amino acid protocal and the thomas recipe at the bottom right of this page they really help, all of us on here have been where you are at, and we will help you all we can, keep posting all you have to, but i realy think you should tell your husband and get his love and support, that will help a great deal. Call your DR. TODAY before the weekend to get some help and get rid of any pills you have give them to your spouse so maybe he can help you taper but because you cant taper on your own. GOOD LUCK!!!
