Nose Strips

Has anyone ever heard of someone being addicted to Nose Strips? My sister-in-law wears one 24-7. She thinks she will not be able to breath if she takes it off.  Also, her nose is so raw and sore from wearing it all the time it looks horrible. Nothing anyone has said to her including her husband can make her take it off.  I got her to take it off for a few hours and it still appears it is on, since her skin is so far stretched.  I am trying to find info on this subject in order to help her "kick this habit".  Thanks for your help.

Thank you both for your input.  I live with her brother and he also has obessive compulsive disorder.  I never even put two and two together.  This really helps me and her husband go in the right direction.

Thanks again

Well - I agree with refusing here....that is OCD behavior. We all know she wont die if she takes the strip off... now we need to help her work with that....when it gets to a raw nose......that sounds like an interference with daily functioning...she will probably feel a lot better after you get some help for that ......I think medhelp has a forum that covers it........at the very least I believe there is support..................
