I'm not having a very good night...

I'm getting anxious about tomorrow. About going to work and about the pills coming. My mind is racing and I'm feeling very emotional. I realize that I'm going to have to start "feeling" things again and not numbing myself, but it's starting to feel a bit overwhelming.
I was given a prescription for clonidine from my psychiatrist to help with the withdrawal and at first I didn't think it helped much, but now I'm starting to think it's been a godsend!
I really need a good nights sleep! This up and down roller-coaster is going to be brutal!!!

I am cold a lot too, which is annoying since I am anemic and cold by nature!  I drink lots of tea at work and have a comfy shawl that I wrap around me like a blanket when I am not with clients.

You are doing awesome!   Your body is just trying to regulate itself without the meds!  It will get better but try all of the above suggestions for the cold!  I didnt experience that when I went through detox so Im not much of a help there!  But I do know that even my lingering symptoms were gone by day 28 and I have felt pretty great since then!!  Youll do fine at work today!  I actually found it helped me when I went back on day 7 to keep my mind busy and not think about the other stuff!!!  Keep on posting and keep up your great attitude!!!  XO Karen

You can soak your feet in a tub or bucket of hot water.
Use an electric blanket
Lay on or under a heating pad
Wrap in a cozy thick blanket or sweater
Put on super thick socks

Thank you! I'm really trying to stay in the moment and not get worked up. I really wish I could take another bath tonight, but my daughter needs to shower and I used a lot of water doing laundry. Oh well....I can do this!!!!!!

Yes it is normal. You'll be freezing during the day and sweating through your shirts at night. I slept. With 3 blankets a comforter and electric blanket for 2 weeks. Think socks too. Jacked the heat up. It was unreal. Just break a nice warm sweater or cardigan or jacket to wear when you are cold. Drink hot tea.

It'll go away soon.

Ok breath....relax....  That is the pills talking. Telling you you can't do it without them.

Well you have been. 6 days is awesome!!!!  And you will go to work tomorrow and be just fine. In fact you'll be busy that once you get going you won't think about it.  You have 1 week tomorrow. Celebrate. Don't worry. Rejoice in your sobriety.
