RLS was the worst, UGH, I totally understand what you are going through.
Can you stand in a hot showee with steam? That can help also. The hot bath is really the best remedy. Bananas and potassium are all good, but hot water, soaking is really, really helpful. Try soaking in a bunch of hot towels. It will get better, I promise. It just takes time.
It may take a bit for the potassium supplements to kick in, like a few days. Don't give up. You will get through it.
Also, walk, run in place, do anything to tire em out. Walk 3 miles if you have to.

RLS was also one of the worst symptoms for me I forced myself to walk as much during the day as I could and at night I could not sleep anyway so while the family slept I scrubbed walls! Kept my mind off the legs and other symptoms and Hot Baths are better then any over the counter med in my opinion. This will not last forever just try to stay busy....
I ate bananas till I couldn't stand them any more. It seemed to help in 2 ways. First the potassium probably helped. Second It was real food and nutrition that I could hold down which probably helped. I didn't put anend to RLS but I'm sure I shortened/reduced it.
Wrap them with ace bandages or whatever you have handy.They also sell something at walmart called restful leg.The rls was the worst for me to,hang in there it does go away.
bio freeze and icy hot helped me and tons of bananas.
Eat lots of bannas they are high in Potasium, also take hot bath with epsom salt before you go to bed and if you find yoursel laying in bed with RLS bad just get up and get active thats what I did and it helped me alot
