The Waismann Method is the best option for rapid detox when it comes to safety.
Some reasons are that they perform in a JCAHO accredited hospital, they use sedation instead of anesthesia, after the procedure they don't send you to a hotel like other rapid detox facilities, instead they help you through the transition at their post detox facility.
Controversial subject.......we had an individual from Australia here going through it a couple weeks back. Down there it is a Governement subsidized procedure that differs just a bit from that in the States. Cost $3000 for him. It runs around $8000 here. Dont believe that insurance is accepted. Here I believe you are put under with a general and kept sedated for a day or so while IV drugs clean out your system. Then you are discharged to the care of an EMT for a day and then sent home. This procedure will not address the long term issues. PAWS is still very real. Cravings are real. Stuff like that. A Canadian study doing a rapid detox procedure was shut down a short time back for several deaths that had occurred. Risks besides death seemed to be associated with incontinence and renal complications. Its awfully early in the ballgame for the procedure here I think. For what its worth - the individual from Australia was quite happy with everything the last time that I spoke with him.
