Valium & Dr.'s

Does anyone know if a Dr. starts someone on Valium or Xanax, or anything for that matter, is it their responsibility to wean that person off if they become addicted?

my doctor TRIED to make me cold turkey off Xanax. i wouldn't do it and I switched doctors, one who was willing to help me thank god, and I will never go back to the other doctor again. doctors can be ignorant.

That just screams control issue to me on the Dr.'s part.  Call the state.  The Dr. needs to be stopped.

Thanks. This Dr. definitely lacks any real morals so I doubt he would help. I know of three people now that he has gotten strung out then cuts them off. He writes scripts for tons of pills then decides not to anymore. I presume he believe he can get in trouble so he just leaves 'em hanging.
