I am truly desparte for help. I have been ill for seven.
years and am diagnoised with spondylitis, sjogrens, psoriatic arthritis. In the begining I refused to take any pain medication however as the disease progressed the pain became intolerable. I started out on something called tramadol and over the years have been on fentynal path , opana 40mg with norco for break through pain along with lyrica, cymbalta, methotrexate, plaquinil, prednisone, and a few others. Several months ago I asked to come off of these medications as I feel I no longer am in touch with my body. I did well with all but lyrica, cymbalta and MS Contin . So I managed to get to 15 mg of MS Contin with 4 norco per day and the pain was tolerable. I also use ice at least eight hours per day on my spine. My prescription was for 120 of the norco which I filled every few months. As I went down on the opana and transitioned to the MS Contin I felt my pain was better. Unfortunately this was short lived so I begain taking the MS Contin at 8:00 am and 8:00 pm with 4 norco spread out evenly. When I went to fill my norco I was given 90 rather than the usual 120. I extended the time between each dose and used ice more to make it through until my next appointment. The doctor explained that because I had not been using the full prescription they had cut back. I explained that because I went tapered off the opana I started increasing the norco. She agreed to increase the amount. Well when I called in for refill I was told that the increase was not in the notes and because I had called early for refill I would have to wait until the 13 of February to refill MS Contin? The 13 is 30 days from last refill, this was no problem as I would not need it until than. I took my last MS Contin on the morning of the 13th I waited till 3:00 pm and called the nurse to verify my prescription was ready for pick up. I was told the doctor had left and it could not be filled. So I had a awful night freezing , sweating, a feeling like I could not be still. My husband went the next morning and refused to leave the office without the refil. To shorten this, this is not the first time this has accrued. I do not have any confidence in the medical care givers as they act as if it is no big deal to go with out these medications. I hate it and decided to go off the MS Contin. Here is the problem I am four days into this and an taking my norco every 4 to 6 hours and Zanex I am freezing, sweating, having horrible nightmares. The worst part is in the middle of the night I cannot be still and have such a horrible feeling. What can I do? I want off this horrible medication and hope to fine a natural alternative. I do not think doctors should put you on these types of medications and than leave you without them. This has happened with cymbalta and lyrica as well which is not fun. Does anyone know how long this will last, and anything that will help the withdrawal symptoms?
