Rock bottom has a trap door!

I'm 96 hours since my last pill. I went to detox because I knew I was at rock bottom with the opiates. They had already taken just about everything from me and my family. We had just recently downsized to an apartment and one of our cars had broke down. Today I have actually got to taste what my addiction has done to us. I ran out of gas this morning trying to get my wife to work so she ended up having to miss a days pay, and we just had out electricity turned off. It's 95 degrees outside and we don't have anywhere to go or anyway to get there. I don't know what to do. I've exhausted all my resources. I'm in a bad way right now. Still in the grip of withdrawals with new burdens to bear. To taste the fruit of my labor and be appalled by its bitterness is like a twisting knife to the gut.

Good for you getting the electric back on. Keep going forward and it will work out. Whatever you do, just don't use..

I made it through the night without using. Just paid electric. Now I'm just waiting for them to turn it back on. Here's hoping for a better day....

Hi Down.  I'm very sorry you are going through such a tough time. I totally understand. One thing that I learned after quitting pills, is that your problems don't just magically go away. They are still there, and we must deal with them. The difference is that now you can deal with them with a clear head, and not under the cloud of pills. Please don't give up. You will work your way out of this. Sending prayers that you will come out of this soon.  Please keep reaching put for support. The worst of the physical withdrawals should be ending soon. Hang in there. All the best!

Hi, i too am sorry your going through some trouble.
With your electricity, is there social services or some government funded agency or a non for profit organisation that can call your electricity company on your behalf to get it put back in because of hardship.
Not sure how you guys do it in your state, but we get food vouchers delivered to our door for Coles and Woolworths, or we ring a charity and they pay most or some of our electricity. We also get a HUGS payment once a year, its where you phone the electricity company and tell them your in hardship and your account is cut off and they ***** you over the phone and they pay 80% of your electricity. People are eligible once a year.
Im in Western Australia, but you could always try, surely some agency will help.
You cant live without electricity : )

Sorry to hear about that trap door. You're at a fork in the road and today is the day that starts the rest of your life. Choose the right road to take, don't use no matter what and it will get better. That's what they told me and I found out that it's true.

Even though it is bad now it will get better. Everyday without  drugs is one day better. Think what you would be doing if you were still using - trying to get $$ for more. And how may not be good.

So you are not spending $$ on drugs so that is a step closer to getting back on your feet. It will be tough but each pay check brings you closer.

You guys will be good. Just communicate and keep pushing forward. Keep your chin you.

But I found a light at the end of the tunnel when I put the drugs down. I just know you will too. Hang in there and let us know how you are doing. I will say a prayer for you.
