Roll Call Time!!!!

February Roll Call time! As many of you know,I like to do "roll call" monthly. I do this for many reasons. One,I'm continuing on for a dear friend that would usually do this, but is no longer on the site. Two,I think it's extremely important for people,no matter where they are in their road to getting/staying clean, to see others' progress/updates. I feel that hearing from others inspires and strengthens our resolve. Especially for those that are just starting out on this journey,or who may be "on the fence" about quitting. Sharing our stories, our successes,is huge. It takes a lot to admit that we are addicts in the first place. SO....let's hear it,no matter how long it's been!!! Be proud of yourselves!! We're all in this together, and for many, this may be the only source of support. For me,it's been a bit over 1 year. For this month's roll call I'd like everyone to post what helps them through the "mental" part of withdrawls. Stay strong everyone, and guard up!! Always here~"T":):)

392 opiates.
362 benzos.
What helped through the mental WDs? hmmm. Immersing myself in work was a good distraction..the journey of self-discovery to understand what my triggers and reasons to use, encompassed a lot of the other time. Knowing that after 25 years of active addiction, I was going to finally live my life on lifes terms, was the most powerful motivation. But everyday was for that day only. And look it that...392 days later. :) One happy man.

Great words. I have never used pills but it is the same with alcohol. I struggle each day with my crazy thoughts. I come here to hear how others are working their programs, regardless of if it is pills or alcohol- everyone has something important to say. Carol
