AWESOME!  Each day is a new adventure.  Less of one symptom and a new one to deal with.  Get your butt to the gym or go for a walk/run when one of those "cravings" creep up.  Remember, you are having to learn how to live again without that crutch that's been holding you back for so long.  Making new friends to talk with help too!!!!

Thanks so very much for all the advice!!!! I acually had a 6 hour straight night last night!! I cut out my afternoon coffee, and had a hot relaxing bath before bed!! Seemed to do the trick!!! Im avoiding however putting anything in my body to 'get me through' any of these horrible symptoms im still having! Im totally aware that this will just take more time!!! I will get there eventually.... After all the years Ive abused my body, its gonna take 'time' to get things back in working order.. And im Totally accepting that! Im just sticking with the IF ITS NOT NATURAL or HEALTHY Im not doing it:))
AGAIN thankyou all who have helped soooo very much!!!

I would stay away from the suggestion of Nyquil. You can get addicted to that, it's a drug. Stick to Melatonin and a sleep-helpful diet.

At night cut out caffeine and sweets. For snacks, eat carbs later at night like whole grain crackers or cereal. Try to eat magnesium rich foods (or take a magnesium pill). Magnesium is a natural sedative. Foods rich in magnesium are dark leafy green vegetables, wheat bran, almonds, cashews, blackstrap molasses, brewer's yeast, and whole grains.

Good luck.

Melatonin is your friend my friend.  It's all natural and will do wonders.  Take one when you head up to bed and another if you wake up in the middle of the night.  They have it at Wal-Mart or any grocery store.

Yes...lol..I too have a caffeine addiction.  Not coffee but work out supplements.  One cup in the AM and that's it.

That's it.  You sound like my twin :-)

I totally agree with petroglyph54 - sleep etiquette is HUGE.  I too never thought some of those simplest of tasks could help your sleep routines, but they do.  Google it and you will be amazed by what you find.

Going to bed at the same time and getting up the same time every day.  Hot showers before bedtime or a hot bath.  Chamomile or sleepytime tea and a really comfortable bed.  Fresh linens on the bed, calming music if need be.  And darkness is KEY.  Also foods like bananas, or warm milk before bedtime can also be huge sleep promoters.  All of these things help me to this day.  :)  p.s. and meditation - never thought i could get into that either but it's a HUGE relaxer.  :)

I feel your need for sleep. I went back and read your profile, and I see you have pain issues as well. Me too, bummer yeah. I used to say I didn't sleep as much as I was just "unconcious". Sleep is suppose to be "restorative", when we grow or repair cellular damage etc. I was awake most of 2 weeks or so, and was pretty desperate to get some. I'm sure you know how it effects what's supposed to be our waking hours as well, when we can't sleep. So, I talked to some doctor's about it. The neurologist whom I've come to respect said...Let's try the simplest things first. He told me this may sound stupid but look up and read "sleep etiquette". He was right, it sounded pretty hokey. That's why it took me two weeks to do it! But I definately wanted to get it done before I talked with him again. Pain makes sleep much harder, and without sleep it's much harder to heal, what healing can be done. You may not see these there so I'll toss 'em out there. Position matters, especially with a bad back, have you ever tried a lumbar support in bed? Proper mattress? I hear you with the coffee, that is possibly another one of my addictions and fight hard to give up even one pot a day! Decaf had it's own circumstances but I'll drink it if I can't get regular. You are right, quit earlier in the day with the wonderful black liquid. Maybe if your taking vitamins like B-12's, make sure it's in the morning, same with any other nutrients that may be picking up the ole heartrate? You've got two kids so I won't ask about exercise. Plan to sleep, dark place , no or low noise, same time every night, bath hot just before bed. And this healing thing just takes a lot more time than I thought! I still don't sleep well, been clean around 2 months. I do believe though that if I keep pushing good nutrition, and health it will get better. It will for you as well.

Yes...I know what you mean...it takes a few weeks for that restfull sleep to arrive!   You're right!  Passed out vs. sleeping!!   I've been there...

You're doing so well,though!!  Wow!

No caffeine in the afternoon or evening and increace the B vits and take extra C. Try that.

vicki595 - I have slept, dont get me wrong... Just not very well! I am feeling really super 'wore' out in the evenings and feel like i am just sooooo tired and will hit the pillow and not wake up till morning! However i do fall asleep rather quickly to find myself back awake every hour or so..... This goes on the ENTIRE night!!! So just frustrated as i have 2 young boys to care for during the day, everyday and just cant wait to feel 'refreshed" from a wonderful nights sleep!!! I guess after medicating the body for so long you realize u just didnt sleep at night, but more of a "passed" out sleep from being so medicated!! Terrible i know but so very much the truth. Im soooo looking forward to getting alittle more shut eye, so my body can finally feel 'refreshed" like my mind does :))
