methadone detox

after 7 years on this stuff I want off!  i'm tapering 1 mil a week. I feel like crap after 4 weeks. what can I do to make it better?

There are some vitamins you can take but I dont remember what, I didnt take them...If i had to do my detox over i would have went to NA from day one while detoxing, other than that I hate to be harsh but nothing makes this better its inevitable, I took it one day at a time reached out to this site for help just someone to encourage me, and I kept faith that I wont feel this way forever, i tried to stay busy sunshine even if i could only drag myself out and lay in the grass. friends, and just sick of being sick...
I guess the quote you never know how string you are until being strong is the only choice you have, i will tell you it gets better there is a light and you can do this, I have and its been 15 months.

I hear you..I hear you! Congrats on making the decision to come off & on your taper. I'm going to second atthebeach's question: What was the dose you were coming off & where are you now.

If you're not feeling well, slow the taper down. I would imagine that you must have gotten pretty low to be feeling the effects of 1 mg. drops. Slow & easy wins the race when it comes to this drug. It's no cakewalk but it's definitely doable! (I'm almost 2 yrs. clean off the stuff & I did it here w/ the help of these good people). You'll have to go through some discomfort while it leaches from your bones & tissues & then while your system balances out but please know that this is an infinitessimally  small price to pay to have a life of hope, possibility & self-respect. You deserve it & you can do it!
