Suboxone/Methadone qualitive w/d comparison?

Has anyone detoxed from both (and if so I am sooo sorry for your pain)?  I was investigating alternatives to methadone and the w/d that all discuss as being he!!ish to the max.  Now I am reading here it's the same for suboxone.
Is it just a bait and switch on the part of drug companies and docs?
Suboxone is not covered by my medical insurance..not the doc visit nor the medication itself, whereas methadone is a cheap co-pay.  The reason?  Methadone is for chronic pain and suboxone isn't a pain med but a strict detox med..again the moralistic stigma attached to people trying to get off opiates, no matter what got them there.
I really would just like to get off this methadone.  Every time I take one, I mentally envision my bones shattering and my teeth being destroyed.
The thought of it taking months is so difficult to consider.  I am so tired to putting this toxic product into my body.
I looked into rapid detox-way way beyond my ability to pay, especially after the stock market dump yesterday.
Is it just a "tough it out sweetie" situation?

yey...have heard of eople sleeping thru it at home too...a poster a while back/wont mention the name/knocked herself out with flexeril, melatonin, some benzos...and slept thru most of it....woke up to take imodium and drink water....not everyone can do that and i am not sure of the safety of it either if u dont know what u r doing...clonodine will make u sleep and prescribed by ur doctor taking ur BP into account is used by many..i would be sure my doctor knew exactly what and how much i was taking before i even tried that....it is a dilemna for many....go thru wds now?  or take sub and wd later or try not to get addicted to the sub while trying to kick the other....tough and thinks like work and responsibilities would come into play...when i used sub back in the day in small amounts...1-2 mg to hold me over til my pills came on a few occasions...i did get a buzz/a jolt from the sub...but i was a hydro user..not a methadone user...big difference...but a couple of times during chronic pain episodes in the past i took methadone for a week...could tolerate 20 mg a day and no buzz..maybe just a bit sleepy at night....dont know...everyone is different..ot have dangers and all narcotics can suk the life right out of u...i did not even think about using sub to quit because i kew i would have never let go of it...slow taper is the way to go but i am an awful taperer...never could taper my DOC successfully so i doubt i coulda tapered that correctly either..i probably woulda got stuck on it...some have more discipline tho

No, I'm not talking about that. That is U.R.O.D. and isn't a good way to detox what what I've seen. The way I'm talking about is being so sedated on clonidine and benzos you sleep all night and most of the day and was done to me by a maverick doc in L.A. in 1989. It can be dangerous if BP is not monitored but it can be done at home in a modified form if you can find the right doc.

I checked that sleep cure out but it is way expensive--just not affordable, even if I could sell my house in todays market-or even get a loan.
Although it appears it isn't weeks now, its 3 or so days..... and they force w/d whilst one is under with anesthetic then out you come all cured and shiny and bright.
Sounds wonderful.  Too bad for me.

I was on the done and  and have been on sub once for a 5 day inpatient detox. Getting of the done can be tough and sub sould make the first rough month but many people seem to get stuck on it. The best detox I ever had off methadone was a 2-3 week  "sleep cure' where I was given clonidine patches and pills, attivan and sleeping pills. It was admistered in a hospital and worked great.
