^^ great post!!
Chad, how are you doing??
Atleast with the loperamide w/d's you're not going to get nearly as bad mental w/d's. This is all mostly physical. When I started my detox last November I did a lot of reading on Imodium (loperamide) because I heard it was a "miracle" drug for oxycodone w/d's. I'm so glad I did, because so so many stories I read ppl ended up off there opiates but addicted to the lope. Some cases ppl were taking crazy scary amounts to try and hault there w/d's. It doesn't cross the blood barrier, but we do have opiate receptors in our large intestine, and spine. I found relief with just the 2-3 but I think that was just because I got to leave the washroom for a bit. Lol. What you're going through is very real, common and unfortunately happened to a lot of ppl. I'm proud of you for coming here and asking for help and quitting. A lot of ppl don't think loperamide is an addictive drug. It IS and very dangerous drug to taken at high doses. It can stop your heart cause you to have bad bowel issues. And not to mention it's addictive. I'm so glad you've quit!! Hang in there! I'd suggest googling loperamide stories and reading how others got through these w/d's and maybe so you don't feel so alone. xx krissy
You're going to be okay. The feelings you're having are completely normal for withdrawals...it's still early...but in a few days, you're going to feel a lot better.
Stay hydrated...drink lots and lots of water (and if you're having diarrhea, drink Gatorade). Rest when you feel like it, but any exercise will make you feel a 100% better. Hot shower or baths, funny movies, and keep music playing all the time unless it annoys you.
I know you're scared...uncertainty sux. Try not to overthink...shut off your brain and just do the next thing in front of you.
You got this, buddy...easy does it, and in a week, this will all be behind you.
Hugs,
-Robin
Hi, as IBKleen would suggest, "Donot live inside your head!".
What you're describing sounds exactly like wd's to me...and I went through em repeatedly.
I feel ya, but life in the grand scheme of things is full of uncertainty. We don't know what Tommorow holds, therefore, worry only of today! Your doing a fantastic job and you should be very very proud of how far you have come! Keep up the excellent work! Post as often as you need to!
Thanks for posting that it's the uncertainty that I hate.
As a nurse ( and I am NO Dr )... I feel that it's the WD. You most likely not notice anything from the increased lexapro for at least 4-6 weeks.
Hang in there. Treat this one just like your detox before. You got through that one and you are getting through this one now as well!! We have all been there! You know it's worth it!!
Thank you. I appreciate it.I just didn't know what it was. Increasing lexapro or wds....thanks
I too beleive that addiction is a spiritual warfare! Put the armor on and fight just as we are taught!
I think what you are feeling is very normal. Remember, do not think of Tommorow, for Tommorow is yet here! Focus on getting through minute by minute, then 24 hours. Try to get some fresh air.. Go for a drive and crank up the tunes! I literally had to do that on my worst days. Make sure your staying hydrated with lots if fluids and force feed yourself if you must. Remember " food is fuel for our bodies ".. Long, slow deep breaths. Your doing great! You have 5 days behind you now! That's 5 days you NEVER have to do this again! Again, I think what your feeling is normal. Buckle up that armour and fight! Your a warrior!!!
