Suboxone anxiety

my doctor recently prescribed me suboxone, I am thrilled because I do not want to take pain pills anymore!!, However I have experienced these " horrific" anxiety attacks"!! to the point where I am scared to death that something horrific is going to happen!!  Is this a common side affect?  However my last doctor gave me "Wellbutrin" which of course didn't do anything, of course practically no doctor wants to give a "narcotic" such as Xanax to an addict that is trying to get off of pain pills.  Is this normal??   I feel like my heart is going to jump out of my chest!!, & I also experience hot & cold chills frequently during the anxiety attacks much like withdrawal symptoms,, amy suggestions??????

I'm on methadone and Xanax, changing doctors this month... I actually quit the methadone for a bit; then, required another surgery and got back on it. Anyway, that's kinda what it sounds like. I went cold turkey, felt like I was dying (kinda wanted to). I was hot then cold, restless but tired, sometimes a bit disoriented, agitated at times, etc... I went to Health Hut, & was totally upfront about it, the girl gave me a few things for the stress and tension. The teas all taste like crap, but are effective. The main thing that helped was Centrum daily vitamins and this powder I think it was GABA something, but I added it to my drinks and it works.

Did you abruptly quit the opiates?  You could be in cold turkey withdrawal.  That's one possibility.  Know that wellbutrin is a stimulating antidepressant and isn't usually used for primary anxiety as it can cause anxiety.  I don't know that an antidepressant is what you need, but if you did for anxiety that isn't the one to start with.
