Suboxone taper

Can anyone give me a successful suboxone taper chart or schedule?  I've been on 32mg but i've cut myself down to 24mg a day.  Tomorrow i am going to jump down to 16mg.  I would like to make myself a schedule to successfully get off sub.  I am ready to.  I don't want to use anymore and i'm ready to feel normal without anything.  i've been doing very well so far.  any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

Taper slowly as possible. I'm on day 6 of being clean from suboxone. How long have you been on suboxone? I was on it for 5 and 1/2 years.  I went down from 2 to 1 in about a month then went to a half within a couple weeks, did 1/2 for 2 weeks, then went to 1/4 for 10 days after those 10 days I did a quarter every other day for a week then did an 1/8 for a couple days. Everyone has their opinion on how to taper. A lot of people said I tapered waaaay to fast but my doc said I'd be fine. I got through it and it wasn't  that tough. I think I was just so friggin ready to be off this crap that I was willing to put up with feeling like crap for a bit. I've got insomnia like nobody's business and that's taking its toll. Still trying dif natural sleep remedies to see if I can find something that'll help. It is absolutely maddening. But remember everyone's withdrawals are different coming off that crapp. I would just taper as slow as possible. It won't hurt you in the long run...only help you. Good luck to you and keep posting. You can do it!

My experience is the same as a buddy going through the same thing.  I won't tell you our schedule but I have two things to share with you.  Cannibus has been a staple in the process.  Started at  24 and six weeks later we are at 1.5mg/day.  Neither one of us had any withdrawal symptoms to this point although I know my syrum level are still lagging which is okay.

Hi there -

We recommend that you speak to your doctor before tapering.  We realize this isn't always possible, but tapering may worsen other health issues you have, including those you don't yet know you have.

Read the Suboxone/Subutex FAQ's at the bottom of this Substance Abuse Community page. You can follow that until you get to 2mg. You are at a high dose and depending on how long you've used subs, you may want to stabilize  there and do the rest of that taper at a slower rate. You will have to form your own schedule, as we cannot give schedules on this forum. Just remember that each dose lasts about 21 days and it accumulates over time.

The Thomas Recipe at the bottom of the page is also very effective in decreasing withdrawal and repairing brain chemistry. Exercise and hydration are a must to speed up the healing also. Good luck.

Hi,

It is a violation of our guidelines to give out tapering in formation. You need to do this properly with your prescribing physician. As you begin to drop we can make recommendations that may help ease the withdrawal. Let us know how it is going.
