Suboxone withdrawal

After 8 years of taking different pain medication for chronic back pain, I detoxed by myself from 160 mg of oxycodone.  I had suboxone and started taking .2 mg of suboxone.  After 6-1/2 months, I gradually tapered off it and since mid-January I have been off it completely.  I went through all the typical withdrawals of "kicking" legs, nausea, and flu-like symptons.  It has been 7 weeks and I still feel lousy.  I have headaches and sinus pressure and my upper arms and shoulders ache all the time.  I just want to feel normal again.  It is affecting my job and everyday normal activities.

After 8 yrs of opiods, it could take a full year to feel "normal" again, meaning NO sleep issues, etc. If you were put on the meds for pain and nothing has been done to treat or change the pain for the better, then you are also 8 years further into a back pain dilemma. It's a double-deged sword. Hopefully, with all the soldiers coming back injured, the pain management docs will have better and newer things to treat chronic pain patients.
I hope this helped. BRAVO to you for getting off the oxycodone!

Hi,

I think you need to see your doctor and get a good check-up. Suboxone withdrawal can be a long process but 7 weeks is a bit extreme and relatively speaking, you were not on a high dose or for a long time.

Get yourself checked out and let us know how you are doing.
