23 Days and suffering.

Sunday 16/03/08. Well 3 weeks and 3 days have passed, I have since returned to work. I find keeping occupied is the best thing, but the fatigue and the pain in arms and legs are real bad some days.

WARNING.

I had read that symtoms can return at anytime, well that seems to be the case, I ache all over today, ( same yesterday ) and my skin feels as if I have rolled in some stinging nettles, arms and legs in particular. A feeling of general unwellnesss all over, the only thing I seem to want to do is sleep, but that's not going to happen without sleeping pills, and I only take them at night ( another pill to stop asap ).

My mental problems from withdrawal are not yet over as I am not yet able to mix and socialise as I once did. I feel the need to be alone overpowering sometimes, maybe not a good thing, I will need to exercise more as that helps, but it's a merry go round, more exercise equals more tired, but then cannot sleep equals more fatigue, am at a loss.

At least I am not climbing the walls like the first few days, only minor sweats, a bit of coughing and bouts of sneezing, so I suppose it could be much worse, I have read on the forum about people thinking they are over the W/D only to be reminded they are not out of the blue.

Big hello to all, hope you're all sticking in there, and having some great days.

David

Let me tell you from my own experience, getting back to work was the best thing I could have done. If your mind is on something else, then it is off the pills. Don't get me wrong, I think of them on a boring day and when I do, I get myself up and find another project. Cravings, I think, are the last to go if you are lucky enough for them to leave you at all. Just get up and get with something else, or if you have a desk job, log on here for a little. It will give you the good stories that you want to strive for and the bad stories you don't want to relive.

you're few days ahead of me...i am feeling alot of that myself...the only thing that seems normal is my eating....to much eating....i'm used to not sleeping much..i'm going back to work tomorrow and getting anxiety about that...i'm just going to ride out myself...go with the flow...it took a long time to get to the bottom and i am in the mind frame that it will take a while to climb back up i guess....let's hang in there,,,get it done

Read the posts that have just been posted and don't focus on what the negatives that are going to happen and focus on what you will get back. Have you missed yourself? I missed myself terribly! This is where you need to be. This is the greatest family in the world!

David,
I had symptoms for 6 months and still over a year later I will have that achey feeling in my back and legs at time. I am telling you that the sleeping pills are causing you more harm than good. Look at information about them. There is a great website I'll send to you PM. I know we have to sleep but you are going to suffer longer on those sleeping pills. They are working on the receptors of your brain and causing you to have more and longer WD's. You need to at least only take them every two or three nights and best to stop them and get off all the pills.
I'm not being mean just talking from experience and from what I have researched in depth.

i'm thinking you better see your dr, that something else is going on, it is confidential you know.  i am a nurse and i didn't want anything to be in my record so i went to a psychiatrist to help me, and i was lucky that she is also a naturopathic physician so maybe you could look for something like that--it has been a godsend-just like this forum has been..
