Yes, you will have withdrawals from suboxone. That is what kills me about rehabs. All they do is replace one drugs with another. If you do searche on the internet on that drug, you will see that suboxone does have withdrawals. But If you are doing so good now, losing weight, feeling good, then give yourself a little break before you try to go off of it. I would not wait more than a a couple of months and then I would try to taper off of it and go drug free.
Ive been on subs for six years and am trying to come off but just can't handle the withdrawal end of it I take 32mg per day now down to 24mg today I am having trouble filling my script and withdrawals are setting in how long does it last if I decide to free myself from this all I had a bad opiate addiction prior to these n they have been a life savior but the last thing I want is to suffer thru this withdrawal crap again
Yes, you will experience withdrawal coming off the Subutex. You're lucky. My husband's doctor tells him that he's seen no good results transferring people from methadone to subutex or suboxone. So that's great news for you!
My husband had terrible trouble getting off Sub even from .5 mg. The withdrawal went on for a week both times so he went back on a low dose. He's now trying a radical method of Sub detox that so far seems to be working really well. He's had nothing since Friday and no withdrawal at all. Whoo hoooo!
Everyone responds differently to Sub, and from what I've read, the docs really don't know exactly quite how it works in the brain. Some people can jump from 2 mg and not suffer too badly. Others jump from a sliver and suffer terribly. You won't know until you try. Just keep working with your doctor and never forget to give yourself a hug and a high five for the great work you've done. You're almost there!! :-)
