Suggestions for non narcotic non NSAID for chronic pain?

jzj
Have had chronic pain, feet are a mess & my job/profession keeps me standing 8 hrs/day, hip, back, neck & hand pain as well. I'm 57, had taken NSAIDS...mostly motrin, for several years, but due to high doses of Motrin (2400mg day) I now have Stage 3 kidney disease which is irreversable. My current drug that has been prescribed is Tyl #3 which I take sparingly...1- 3 tabs a day. MY doc is on me about habit forming etc, but what are my options? Physical therapy is not available to me, though I doo get a massage whenever possible, but can't let them touch my feet or I'm in pain for days afterward.... I hurt. In order to do my job, I need to be able to stand, use my hands etc. Any thoughts? It's depressing.
thanks, jj

your doctor will not know much about anything about drug useag. you pharmacist will be your best bet their entire degree involves drug effects ingred. and protocal and all that fun stuff (i am a 2nd year pharmacy student) doctors are more for causes and your local pharmacist is your BEST bet for some more and accuate info.

I am also on my feet all day long and work often 50 hours a week.I take tylenol extra strength and motrin but ony in recommended doses daily.I have never taken more than 1600 mg ibuprofen a day and have no kidney disease.I have rheumatoid arthritis.I would suggest  that in USA there is a pain reliever called percogesic that contains tylenol and an antihistamine that is very effective for pain. But let me stress that chronic overuse of tylenol can also cause kidney failure as well as liver damage. My feet are a mess as well from the RA.I think you have no option but to take the T3 but to keep it at a minimum and it will be more effective and less addicting. You really are in a bind because of the kidney damage.Epsom salt soaks at night and heating pads help the pain.I also had new orthotics made that really helped my feet pain a lot.

That would be something to discuss with your doctor there is no one here that could recommend something for you to take with your kidney issues .talk to your doctor or even your pharmacist.
