Anxiety is par for the coarse, but you are stronger than you think you are. Just don't use, like you said, one hour one day at a time. It will get easier and the anxiety will turn to excitement. Drugs will not make the anxiety to away, it will add guilt and shame mixed with self-loathing and despair. No matter how you feel, drugs will not make it better, they will keep you stuck in the cycle of misery. Let go of the drug option, surrender to the process, real sit ions are right around the corner. Don't give up right before a miracle. You can and are already doing this, keep your promise to yourself, you won't regret it. I have yet to hear someone relapse and say "it sure helped." Nope, it always makes things worse. Hang in there, you are closer by the second.

Weaver is one of the kings around here. He's been there and done that...so have I. But I don't post as much as he does...so listen to him. He has experience with all this, he knows what he's talking about. I can't add anything because he's said it all. All I can add is my support. You really can do this..dig deep.. Find it..and hold on for dear life. It's there. It really is. We ALL have it in us. Some of us take longer to find it, but it really is there. You CAN do it! I know you can. Let all the symptoms go to the wayside. Treat them like you're sick with the flu. The mental, ride thru it..like you're going thru a big thunderstorm. Everything passes. It may take a while. But there's things you can do to get thru. Take the advice from the folks here. The Thomas recipe helped me more than I ever thought it would and I detoxed off methadone by myself after an eight year habit. I'm a wimp. If I can do it...I KNOW YOU can!! I hope you find peace and I hope you let go of the chains! :):):)

Oh yeah, take some deep, cleansing breaths. If you can get outside in the fresh air, maybe for a short walk, it will help with the anxiety.  Also, try some Sleepy Time Tea. That helps me relax.

Hi Miamichick, at day 5 you should, hopefully start feeling better soon. You should be just about over the hump of the physical stuff.  Don't second guess your will power. Sometimes you do have to take it minute by minute.  Hang in there. You are much stronger than you think. Keep posting for support, and let us know how you are doing.  Take care. Keep moving forward. You are so worth it. All the best,

You got this sweetie.

I can't really add much to what Weaver said.  But I know how bad you want this.  And you deserve it.  So let yourself have it.  Just keep surrendering to the process and ride the wave.  You will get there.  I promise.
Sendings support and hugs-
Lu
