Symptom not typical of Opiate withdrawl.

I am withdrawing from Opiates and Cigarettes.  Which would be giving me pain in gut, like hunger pain feeling even though I am eating?.  Also, my sense of smell and taste is peaked and nothing tastes good?  I thought when you quit smoking it HELPS your taste buds or does it take time?

HI mimi,

I quit smoking a little over 8 months ago and recently off oxy for almost a month - so I know how you're feeling.  Well, I didn't actually start my quit of both together though - that sounds rough!  Quitting smoking was even tougher than the opiates with the constant cravings at the first two months or so.  It is alot to take on both at once - I wish you luck.  I joined another online forum at the Cancer Society - google Smokers Help Online - they are a great group of people on there let me tell ya, VERY supportive!

I think it's probably the opiate wd giving you the stomach issues - are you taking any vitamin supplements?  Because I noticed a pain in my stomach every time I took those - especially on an empty stomach.  Good luck to you.
