I live with chronic OA too, it has now pain in hips and fingers. The pain is so hard to deal with every single day.. I have a great doctor I am taking Fentanly patch 25 and hydrocodone for break through.. It really works great for my pain, I 'feel normal again"
Get a good doctor to help you and BE HONEST on all issues.. if he/she is good doctors for pain managment they will give you choices that is best for you Bless you and Take care
Stay away from the vicoprofen......I was addicted to those big time. Sit down with your doctor and talk to him about your concerns. There are other non narcotic drugs out there. All the best sara
yes...narcotics are not the only choice..anti-inflamatories, muscle relaxers, injections, exercise even if yoga or strecthing, heat/ice, nuerontin, and the list goes on and on...hfind a doctor who will listen...as ur tolerence goes up the doctors will not prescribe enuf to keep up with ur growing needs..and u will be stranded....the dose u r at now is very do-able..i was at more than twice that before i figured out that this is a dead end street..keep posting
i know arthritis can be very painful, but there has to be another way. i started taking lortab seven years ago "FOR REAL PAIN" and ended up with full blown addiction. today i struggle to stay clean, my body go so addicted to the hydrocodone that i believe it altered my brain chemicals in such a way that i will struggle with cravings for a very long time. if you can quit now!

vicuprophen..its vicodin with ibuprophen which as you know is an antiinfalmitory the vicodin is good for sever artritis...it is avalable in the 500 or 750 doses am not able to remember ibuprophen doses...its hard on the liver not meant for long term use,,you could use it on really bad days and perhaps something non narcotice like toradal on other days,,,toradol is a strong non narcotic pain reliver.
