what to do with family member on suboxin

my neice left rehab on suboxin in Jan..she went to rehab after getting arrested and facing 2 felony drug charges, court postponed think one felony stands. In the past tried to get help for depression, bipolar .. was a Rn but has not worked in 6 yrs. 2 children raised by her mother. It has been a mess..a long and complicated road. I think her drug of choice was loratab but sure other substances was abused. She refused allowing us  be part of her treatment.( her mother).Once she goes to court she will prob loose medicaid and will have to get off suboxin. One major problem is she is going threw withdrawl because went from cash pay to medicaid and having to wait for appt. Her mother is raising her children and the residence is a business too.. when she got arrested it was during time she was made to leave due to her behavior  and she was homeless and stayed with anyone she could. She is at the residence/business  of her mother now and it is not working.. We are at wits end on how to help her .. what to do with her.. she has not recieved good advice or to really address the mental illness and with hippa laws it is out of our control..so much is going on and she almost needs a 24 person to watch her which is impossible. what are families suppose to do..? all half way houses cost money in our area..do you kick them out? we know if she dont get help she will get arrested again and with other counts will face long term..rural area so all treatments and counseling requires days off work for parent who can not leave business..everything is so far away  and takes an entire day to do anything. This has been going on for 6 yrs .. she is 30 and we just really would love some advice or help.. she lives in southern Indiana.the suboxin was a bad move... to give to someone with no money or job...and mental health issues on top of that.

Hello and welcome. I am sorry you have to go through this. I know all the heartache, sadness, fear and insanity that ensues. loving someone who is an addict takes much strength, love, patience, prayers, faith  and hope.
There is always hope................keep the faith.
My husband, daughter 22 and oldest son  27 ,were/are recovering addicts. I was a mess. We get just as sick as they are. We need healing and recovery.
I had to kick each one of them out at different times. After 16 years of active addiction in my family they are all in recovery and our family is healing. I also have 2 younger sons,13 & 15.
My daughter has been in Christian rehab for 8 months, she is still facing a felony charge.
There are consequences for their wrong choices and will have to face the music, pay the piper, serve the time. If we continue to get them out of their messes And enable them they will never hit their rock bottom and have to pick themselves back up.
They need to be sick and tired of being sick and tired.
It doesn't sound like  your niece is required to attend counseling and/or support groups. That should be the case when she is on suboxone.
Have you and her mom attended alanon? It is for the loved ones of addicts.
We are always here, vent and ask away anytime. Keep posting for support.
Sending prayers,hope,peace,
Debbie

I really don't have any answers for you, but wanted to let you know you came to a good place. There are a lot of incredible people here who will help with advice. You might have to be patient. People pop on and off. But someone will probably have advice for you. My heart goes out to you. Try and stay strong. God bless.
