YOU can do this. We will be here to support you and help you thru it.
You have to get in the right mindset...look at this like you have a touch of the flu. Treat it as such..you will NOT die..although you may feel like s**t.
If you taper...wds will not be as bad as ct...you will still feel them...but you should be able to function at your job and what ever else you need to do.
Remember HOT BATHS for the aches and rls...drink lots of H20, immodiunm for the runs (i didn't have w/ tapering), OTC medsfor pain relief and sleep.....you will hav esome depression andemotional days..but you will get thru it...jsut keep postin gan dasking questions...
Get all your supplies together...
.get ready for this journey...into your new life....drug free.....GOOD LUCK!

This is from Feohmoon's journal (hope you don't mind feohmoon)....I think this will help!!

I have been researching information on detoxing from methadone in hopes of alleviating some of the pain associated with it.  It was during this research that I came upon this site - which I will forever be thankful for.  I take no credit for this information - most of you will recognize some of it as a variation of the Thomas recipe (which is great). I am simply compiling info from many reputable sources to offer an all natural detox.

As difficult as it is to remove preconceived notions from your head - focusing on the horrors of detoxing is attracting that negativity - Therefore it is imperative that we focus on our strength, our courage, our victory over drug use.

Take frequent hot baths, add epsom salts to the water.

Drink massive amounts of water ( fruit juice *cranberry )

Induce sweating - We are building a sweat lodge that we are very excited about.  If you'd like any additional ifo on it, please let me know - We recently learned how from a shaman medicine man.

Nutritional Supplements - Our bodies are depleted of virtually all vitamins, minerals, nutrients - Build it up with a strict diet ( no red meat at all, no pork, no sugar, no fried foods - cutting out all preservatives for awhile should be done )  GNC offers some great supplements

Vitamins - Dosage is on Thomas recipe and I feel it can vary - Upon speaking with a doctor, I was told that it would seem as if we were taking way too many vitamins - but we need that many.

Website vitaminsthatwork.com - CalMag and NaturalCalm w calcium - Magnesium helps with depression.

Anyone follow the old religion?  Anyone into metaphysical arts?  If so...or if not...chakra cleansing is very effective method of pranic healing.  Reiki would be very helpful if you practice or if you know of a Reiki Master.  Check out local metaphysical shops for guests that might be able to help you feel better.

Exercise helps your body to speed up the detox process...it sure sounds meserable...exercise during wd...light impact walking or swimming is excellent.

Massage is great therapy

Support - This is where all of you come in.

Herbs for sleep -  melatonin, kava kava, valerian root, lemon balm

In staying clean, the single most important thing ... Structure.  Structure means something different to everyone even though it means the same thing.

*Eat raw vegetables & fruit to get all nutrients/antioxidants
*Softgels, chewables or liquid vitamins work best because the narcotics have affected our gut functioning properly enough to break down tablets.
**Injectable vitamins work even better ( definately take B12 shots for the first month )

Just some suggestions...hope something can help you.  If I come across something to add...I will.  There are many other herbs I did not take time to list.  Perhaps I will someday...there are so many...if people would really like to know about possible herbal remedies...I would be happy to talk with anytime...
A lot of this is simply common sense, some of it I have only recenly found out about.  I shortened it alot, but this is the biggest part of it.

Take your vitamins and drink water, water, gatorade, tea, whatever, just plenty of fluids. Read the Thomas Recipe, and if you taper slowly, hopefully you will be just fine. You may w/d but hopefully they will be minimal. I tapered and it worked best for me. Hang in there!!! Good luck!
