Congrats Joy, you are doing it, and you are on the right track,, I do the same, when i have a bad moment I either come here or busy myself with something I love to do... It's a long road to recovery but I believe we can make it.... Lisa
It sounds like your really working your recovery and congrats on 18 days. Our chances are so much greater with support such as meetings councelling, etc. Your doing great joy, keep it up.
Congrats on 18 days. That's great.
Just always remember to take it one day at a time, thats all we can control is the here and now. Just like you said keeping busy with any sort of tasks really helps keep our minds clear of any negative thoughts. Do whatever you gotta do to stay clean, if that means going to meetings for the rest of your life then so be it, its a whole lot better than going back to the daily grind of stressing about pills all the time. We all have the power to get clean, but the real test is resisting that temptation for the rest of our days. Its a tough battle, but its one that is worth winning. Stay positive everyone, we can all do this, have a great weekend.
I have tryed to get clean and stay clean so many times. But when the time comes your tried and you live a real life you can do it. Iknow I'm only 18 days clean and I could use tomarrow but with the grace of God and my NA meeting I know I can beat this! For me I probaly will keep this schedule for along time and yes I'm tried but I know in my heart this is what I got to go stay clean. Keep busy
I'm sorry I don't know anything about oxy high.
Congrats on making it to day 18, you sound like you a pretty perfect plan set up so you remain clean. Thats always been my downfall in the past was not following up, or only going to meetings for a month or two then thinking I could make it by myself. Just like you excercise has been absolutely vital in my recovery, its not only helped me physically but it virtually eliminated all of the depression, fatigue and anxiety issues I had. I started out with just walking my jack russell a few times a day and slowly worked myself into going to the gym. In the last 4 months Ive lost 33lbs that I really needed to lose, so I think that also added some more self confindence in myself. Anyways your doing great, I still need to go to more NA meetings, I typically go a few times a month, but I do see a therapist twice a month as well. Ive never put as much effort into the aftercare aspects of recovery but its really paying dividends this time around. Your schedule of aftercare is like the poster child of what we should all do, its not always fun,but it's another thing to keep us busy and away from those idle times where our minds start messing with us. Anyways Im really glad your doing so well, I think Im going to make more of concerted effort to go to more meetings because I have struggling a bit with cravings lately. Best of luck to you with your continued success, take care.
Glad to hear about your 18th day. I just posted a question re oxy high. My new boyfriend is in NA & I really want to support him. Do you know if there are any phisical signs when someone is high on oxy. Small puiple ect? I'd really appritiate if if you do
