I have been tapering down and am at 9 per day now. I went down 2 pills this last weekend. Yea Tramadol is much worse than hydrocodone. Tramadol seems more synthetic and chemical feeling. And what they do to the body and the brain is much more complex than what hydrocodones do. And the withdrawals from Tramadol reminds me of withdrawaling from Methadone. And Methadone is about one of the very worst things to withdrawal from. Pains from Tramadol withdrawals are more acute than pains from hydrocodone withdrawals and then there are those Lovely Anxiety Attacks Tramadol is famous for. Hydrocodones never gave me a panic attack. Before I had a panic attack I never thought they where all that serious of a thing. Then I had one, Damn, you feel like you are about to die, Literally. Nothing else can describe it to me, it just feels like you are gonna die. Hydrocodone withdrawals are mild at best when compared to Tramadol withdrawals. That's just my opinion though. By the end of the year I should be Free of Tramadol. Give or take a month. But I'll use Ambien, Valium, and Hydrocodones to get me through the first week or so of withdrawals. Then I'll stop those and Bite the Bullet!
I've been through Tram W/D and Vic W/D...Tram, by far, is much much worse. However, once i got past it, i NEVER ever touched it again. One day at the doc, he was about to write me a script for Tram and i refused to take it. Instead I got Vic's (which I have been clean for 23 Days and counting).
Anyways, there is life after Trams...once they get through W/D's, life does get back to normal. Good Luck.
Lebanon is a country in the Middle East.
I am tapering off tram and it is HELL altho I've never heard of or experienced any hallucinations w/ it. It seems to be turning into a huge epidemic cuz itis long acting and cheap easy to get...yikes
yes, Ultram/Tramadol is a nasty buggar! My opinion is that doctors will order this drug to protect themselves and their licenses. This will not continue as there have been MANY cases of severe w/d syndrome associated with ULTRAM and the word is out to most doctors that combining tramadol with the anti-depressant fluoextine causes "serotonin syndrome" The docs do not tell us that trams are weak mu-opioids, just as addictive as full agonist narcotics, and to boot, have quite the anti-depressant effect. So not only does one have to feel the physical w/d's, there are the mental w/d's as well. It took me about 6 weeks to clear ultram from my system..I thought I sould go mad! I felt mentally ill, depressed, anxious, and extremely achy and fatigued. I'm not sure about the half-life but you could not pay me to take that drug for pain EVERAGAIN! I feel for anyone dealing with it. Shame on Docs for guinea-pigging us because of the DEA! Yeah, I can't say it enough....ultram/Tramadol is freaky and weird!
Hi, I'm currently in the process of withdrawal from tramadol. I used it (50mg) twice or 3 times a day for about 2 years. Now I'm on day 14 without it.and the symptoms are not fun, I suffer from migraines and I have them almost every day, terrible pain in the muscles of my back and the back of my neck also. I did not have Hallucination s, no anxiety, but this maybe because I take other medications that might prevent this from happens.
Good luck,
Bob
