After many hours of research which is easily available I believe it to be fact that Tramadol can help with opiate withdrawal. It is best used for a short term or fast taper and will help with the WD's. I am far below the dosage that most started at which was 300MG a day so I think I will be fine. I will post updates so people will know that there may be a way to make WD's comfortable as possible but at the same time it could be a curse. If it does work like the research indicates then one might be inclined to use again because there is now an easier way to stop the use. I personally know the hell pills put you through and that is why I quit even with a doc wanting to prescribe more opiates for my knees. I am on day 4 now or 74th hour since my last opiate which was 5mg methadone. I felt uncomfortable on day 2-3 and now feel fine. I actually have energy and no hot/cold sweats. I took a 50MG tramadol at 9AM this morning and it is now 235PM. Anyways, I think they key is to keep it short and sweet. I am going from 125MG a day of tramdol to 50MG to 0MG in less than 8 days. From what I saw most needed to weeks of use to feel WD's from tramadol and at 200MG or more a day.
I researched and they're are places that give tramadol instead of methadone as a way to get off opiates. I need something for my knee so what would you suggest then? My current choices are Methadone, Roxi, or these? I have not had an opiate in over 3 days...so I would hate to put that back in my system and I would think coming off 50MG of tramadol would be way better than 10mg of methadone or 60MG of Roxi. Plus I feel WD symptons now so I know that I am going through some of it as we speak vs. prolonging it. Thanks for the advice.
most likely all you will do is put off your wds the long you stay on the tram the more of a chance you will have of wd from them as well I would dump them now .
things were/are good. I have been working a lot and stayed clean for a year with a few minor hiccups. It kinda ***** that I am going through this again but it could be worse. I have a good life, wife, I have been lucky to be successful in this economy and have a loving family/friends. I am thinking the worse is behind me with WD's as Roxi were/are my DOC and not tramadol they do nothing for me. I felt icky last night and like I said still have stomach/motivation issues but that was it. I think I was fortunate to nip it before it got bad. I was only doing 60mg a day and then weened down to 15mg. I am a little concerned about these tramadol though...I need them for vacation and my knee but if I am going to honestly feel the "horrible" WD's I hear they cause from only me using them for 8-10 days and at max 150MG then that will suck! I hope someone can give me some advice soon! I was planning on weening like 100MG 100MG 100MG 75MG 50MG 50MG and then stop...But I honestly thought taking less than the recommended dosage and for such a short time couldnt possibly cause dependency. Who knows?
Sorry to hear about the accident by the way. Did you end up in the hospital?
tramahater or avis will be on at some time and will be able to tell you better what you should do as this was their DOC.
How are you doing other than this??
I only have 14 50MG pills. The recommended dosage is 4 a day and I have been taking two to two and a half for three days. I have about 5 more days worth. Do I need to taper from 2 50MG pills a day? I am assuming that the opiate withdrawal from the Roxi is passing and I wont feel that in a week when I get off these. The tramadol is really helping for the pain in my knee.
The tramadol NEEDS to be tapered off. This stuff is highly addictive and brutal to get off. That is why you havent felt much for wd's from the other. Seizures are a risk with tramadol. Will your doctor help you with a taper plan? sara
