Two Years Clean!

Today is the big day - two years ago I stopped ct, walked in to a hellish detox and came out a clean and sober person. It's hard to believe that I've been here for two years; time does fly when you're having, uh, fun.
I could go on and on - to those I've upset, I certainly didn't mean to. I see red flags and have to react. I really don't want you going through the things I did, although deep down that you'll probably have to anyway.
To those who've supported me along the way - what can I say? I owe you big time. There are a few that were here two years ago who encouraged me, held my hand, patted me on the back - and kicked me in the butt as needed (and in the beginning it was very necessary, and often).
Reading the posts of new or newer people I see so much of me in the words. And I can only hope that they will stick around long enough to learn all that is being offered. There is so much knowledge and experience here, and it's free!
Thank you to my MH family. I could go on and on but I won't. The best way to thank you, really, is to continue living clean. And I plan to do exactly that.

Congratulations, Kyle.  We make a big deal around here about 1-year clean, but 2-years is a HUGE deal.  Stay the course, and keep those blunt (but true) posts coming.  We need that.

No worries. Before I found pills I was an avid boozer. So, I can relate. I haven't drank in 28 years, but very soon after getting sober I found pills, and I was off to the races.
So, hang in there. And keep your word to your family and your dog.

Hey Klye..I noticed in your reply to me you said "Stay Clean"..Well I have worked hard for almost 16 months..Since all my crisis are coming in one right after another, I had to up my Support. I mostly worry about drinking before anything else. I have not drank in 9 years..Holding on as best I can. Dealing with all of this Pain right now in my Heart is hard, but I made promises to myself and to my Family and Dog that are now in heaven that I would not use ANY mind altering Substances.
