UPDATE-183 DAYS OF FREEDOM!

I have been clean 183 days of a 6 year 120mg a day HYDRO habit.

I have no urges, or thoughts.

I also kicked ciggarettes at the same time (smoked 1 pack of marlb lights day for 17 years)

The first 3 months i felt GREAT!

Now i dont, here is why. I GAINED 45LBS!   I went from 155lbs to 200lbs!!!!

I just had complete bloodwork done for life insurance policy. Complete good bill of health, and they check for EVERYTHING!

I was ALWAYS a skinny guy.....im only 5'9 and the weight is all in my belly.....my whole wardrobe....USELESS!

Im so fcuking depressed about this weight gain, im ready to go to my DR and ask for some type of weight loss medication

Anybody have any reccomendations?

My wife had me on the SOUTH BEACH diet. I coudnt make 24 hours...

I have seen many people addicted to diet pills and they are no longer thin. Those diet pills work for a few months then quit working, but by this time people are addicted to them and take them like speed.Diets pills don't work.

Phentermine is another addicting drug..It is speed and hard to quit.Tolerance builds up with this drug and people often need more to get effects.I advise you to use the old safe way and that is exercise, diet and good old self control. You have plenty because you have killed 2 monkeys, but do not replace them with another. You can do it without pills.

Congrats on just being HEALTHY!  I'm very PROUD of you..not only for kicking the Hydro habit but for giving up the cigs too!  That is huge!  (I'm still smoking and I hate it.. I was told to conquer one beast at a time and I have 111 days clean off of Norco..now I just have to get with the program and kick the cigs...cuz I know they are killing me) And.. one of the main reasons I keep putting off quiting the cigs is my fear of the weight gain...Nothing worse for me than being FAT AND FIFTY.. except the fact that I will be able to breathe better... save money... be around to see my kid get married... experience being a Grandma... Not smell like a cig.... have less wrinkles....need I go on?!?! I think NOT... sooo Congrats to you my friend..

here's the key. you might not like it, it *****, but if you can kick hydro - you can do this. EXCERCISE. Burn more than you consume. All the fancy diets and this and that are rubbish. Eat as clean as you can, and just move.. walk, run, do whatever.

i found if i do 1 hour of cardio per day - yes, that's a lot and you cant just jump into it - you will shred pounds off... literally melts away.

start with 15 mins or something. then make it 20, etc... if you can hit an hour per day, you will watch it all melt away.. provided you arent eating cheeseburgers every day!

good luck, if you can beat the drugs - you can beat the weight. its actually easier

Wow...congrats on both accomplishments. You are good...Now the weight thing...that can be the hardest because the food took the place of the other drugs including cigarettes.Perhaps you could time your day in 4 hour increments and only eat at those times.Set up  a diet plan and only allow yourself to eat at those times.Drink plenty of fluids and exercise. You can do it because you are strong.I quit smoking 26 years ago and gaimed some weight which I tackled later and have pretty much kept it off.I don't think diet pills are the answer because you have to change your eating habits.I know it is extremely hard, but after the first week of dieting the hunger usually subsides and you are able to stick to the 4 hours easier.GOOD LUCK

Oh another thing...i wake up every morning with my lower back KILLING me. It starts in  the last few hours of my sleep. It goes away after i wake up and move about. I slept on multiple mattresses and its not the mattress. It has to be the sudden weight gain
