Ugghh trying not to be discouraged

Hello everyone my names Kim and i have been addicted to opiates for the last 6 years, the last 2 years being the worst. 20-25 a day. September 23rd was the last day i took any pills. I went straight to an outpatient detox for 21 days where they started me on 40mgs of methadone a day and tapered me down. My last dose of 5mg was october 13th. I am starting my 7th day off the methadone. wds still slightly present but its this dry throat sinus pressure and fatigue and sadness that is still lingering. Sleep still ***** and now im finding myself thinking can I really ever truly feel happy again and motivated without the use of stupid opiates. Angry and discouraged. Please help......

Sorry to hear that you are down Kim. When I came off of Methadone it was one of the hardest things that I ever had to do. I am so glad that you chose short-term treatment. It will get better I promise. I remember day 7 off the Methadone!  Blaaahhh!!!! You should be happy! Your withdrawls aren't gonna last that much longer you just have to have FAITH!
Keep posting because it helps.

You are doing great!  You have made it this far.  Now is the hard part.  Just keep your head in the game, and keep busy.  If you can stay active it helps quite a bit.  Keep posting and ask questions.  You have some good experience under your belt.  Answer others questions, its amazing how much better lending a hand makes you feel.
