Ultram

Hey guys, my Dr. gave me Ultram to take for this weekend before I get my epidural injections on Monday. I can't take my motrin because it could bruise my back and cause bleeding. If I take this as prescribed, should I be OK? He prescribed me 125 50 mg., that is a lot.I will not take all those, what do you guys think?

Just FYI, withdrawal from Ultram for me was sheer hell.

I am only on day four off hydro's myself, but I can tell you that Ultram/tramadol is a horrible idea. I tried them once when trying to quit hydro's. They seemed to me to be more addictive than the hydro's. The w/d's are much worse for some reason too. If I were you I would talk to my Dr. Addicts and narcotics of any kind are ALWAYS a bad idea.

Honey....I agree with all the above posters. Ultram/tramadol is highly addictive....and yeah, the w/d are worse than opiate w/d. Ultram is a synthetic narcotic---but has the same properties or effects as the hydros do. But there is something different with them...you can (AND WILL) have a seizure if you take more than you are supposed to, which you probably will end up doing because its our nature....we all abuse pain pills, that's why we're here. Today is day #9 for me and I feel great. I can only speak for myself, but I know I wouldn't want a pill stronger than a motrin right now or for a long time. If you just kicked hydros, please trust all of us when we are telling you Ultrams are a baaaaaaad idea. Ok?

I wouldnt take those.......call your doctor and ask for something non narcotic.  Those are way to addictive and dangerous.        sara

i agree she shouldnt take them prob dont know all her history but the withdraws arnt even close to most other narcotics but i kno 1 thing for sure is if your an addict like me if at all cost dont take anything that is or acts like a narcotic all roads lead back to the same

If you were addicted to hydro then I highly suggest you dont take this. Its just as addictive and the WD is worse then hydros .
