Using methadone to wd from oxy

So I folded and went to the dr. He decided he would prescribe me 70 mls of methadone to take for the first three days. He told me it would keep te worst of the oxy wd at bay and come out the other side about day 6 with minimal withdrawal mostly the tired no energy stuff. Said it would help me get through work and have minimal wd symptoms so guess the question is will this actually work or is he blowing smoke? I get his angle but I would like to hear from your thoughts on this? Thanks again everyone

HI all this is going to do is postpone your withdrawal by about a week the methadone if taken like your doctor says will hold off the withdrawals temporaly  you should skip the methadone and just push thew the oxy withdrawal and get it over with you will be ahead by a weeks time methadone was not designed to work like this it is designed to be a program to get you off heroin or other street drugs and to be used over time to give you time to straiten out your life wile putting your addiction on hold these 3 day detoxes dont work good luck and God bless........Gnarly

Well I took about 10-12 mg this morning and right now I feel brutal.... There's no way I could sleep tonight knowing how I feel now. I'm tempted to just get high and say eff it.... Feel full out wds right now and it *****... Felt better earlier but as the day goes on I feel worse.... I'm just really frustrated with everything

you will feel better dont worry Methadone is very strong stuff. i was doing lots and lots of heroin and 60 mg kept me well for 23 hours or so.

JUST DONT STAY ON IT IF YOU EVER LISTEN TO ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE LISTEN TO THIS. METHADONE W/D WILL BE WORSE IN THE LONG RUN.

You will be okay : ) methadone takes about 45 minutes tops to kick in youl feel kinda warm and fuzzy but nor really high. Dont worry. Just dont stay on it.
