W/Ds getting worse on Day 4

Is it normal to have worse withdrawals four days after I've quit an opiate? My cravings are TERRIBLE and that I expected, but now I'm having severe anxiety (maybe just from knowing I can't get my DOC), going to the bathroom all the time, and very moody (crying a lot).

Yes - day 3, 4, & 5 are frequently the hardest. After that it starts to go downhill ......... were you by any chance taking methadone, or an extended release form of oxycodone (oxycontin) or morphine (MSContin) ?  - - - - these are time release formulary's and they act differently than immediate release forms.. they have legs and the normal timetables dont apply to them. Methadone is the worst ..... but they all can take longer than immediate release formula's........... the good news is that they all end.....stay strong!!!

These are all common W/D symptons...I am now 36 days clean and can remember the first week like it was yesterday....Things really do keep getting better just hang in there and Congrats on day 4....I think by the time I got to day 5 and 6 I knew the worst was behind me, if you have some plan for aftercare I would suggest looking into it...The anxiety part is a killer but just remember it's all in your head, we have the power ot make ourselves sick or make ourselves better, it really is a Mental battle at this stage...Do things to take your mind off what you are going through and it is ok to cry or to feel bad, everybody has bad days!

Wds are different for everyone...Congrats on Day 4!!! Some people, day 3-4 are the worst, some, day2-3...you're ALMOST over the hump of the toughest time...

stick with it..Day 4 is not an easy thing to do...

I'm actually experiencing pretty bad anxiety...just keep telling yourself you will get through it....bathroom, ugh, tell me about it!!! EWWWWW...Crying, yup!

you're not alone, we're all experiencing the same!!!! Think positive, as hard as it is, and keep it going...before you know it, you'll be past the physical parts...

I'm on day 2 and I feel good 1 min and not so good the other...it's a tough battle...good luck and keep posting.

They say that is the peak day..usually day 4 and 5, so you should be done after this, as far as bad w.d goes..
