My 1st day w/out Ox

Hi. Just wanna say I've found the post here a great source of information and support.

Me and my bf had been snorting OX - approx 80mg per day off and on for almost a year. We started tapering off last week. I quit yesterday - and my BF will taper until he quits in 2 weeks (when he gets time off work).

Though I'd been taking a half 80 for the past 4 days, I foolishly thought 'hey - it's my last night - I'll go on a bender' so I did a whole 80 not last night but the night before (and then back to tapering a half - 40 - yesterday). I hope this doesn't set me back with the withdrawal process.

I haven't taken anything today and don't feel all that bad - a bit sweaty and lathargic. I have 3 percs (leftover from a prescription I was given for a reoccuring neck problem) - but am holding off on taking them (is that wise - or should I take one and consider it part of the tapering?) I'd like to get SOME sleep tonight if possible - but was SO hoping that I'd feel OK after the weekend. Is it possible that my withdrawals won't be too severe? I think I'm more afraid than anything .. lol.

And can anyone provide input on how my bf should taper/quit? He's been taking a half 80 for the past 4 days and ideally, his last day of taking anything will be Mar 7th. I definitely don't want more than necessary in the house - Oh yeah - I quit smoking last week too (nice timing huh?)

Anyway - thanks for sharing your stories, advice and support.

Thanks once again (ha ha - just noticed a word got censored in my post above - It started with C and the rest was 'rap' I didn't swear - honest... lol). Anyway - I'm gonna log off for a bit and get some dinner ready - since I feel up to it now and might not tommorrow - then, it'll be Pizza Night!

Your words of support have helped immensely.  Have a great afternoon/evening all. I'll check in tomorrow.

Oh **** - I have no idea where I'd get Valium. I don't want to mention this problem to my doctor - I get occasional prescriptions for percocet due to a reoccuring neck problem (and thankfully, have never become addicted to them - just take as prescribed along with anti inflammatories until it subsides). Thanks anyway tho!

Hang in there. It usually takes 4-5 days for the worst to be over. some more some less. Look up the Thomas recipe in my journals. It has helped many to detox. Drink lots of water eat lots of bananas and keep Immodium close by. Hot Epsom salt baths for the chills.Good luck.

If you can make it without the percs...do not take them....it will prolong the process somewhat....stay focused and keep posting...congrats!
