I know no matter what the cravings are going to come back hard but I'm fully prepared mentally to fight that fight. My concerns are what kinds of withdrawals I can expect? Will my Norco withdrawals immediately kick in along with Sub withdrawal? Please help me lol
Oh and I was taking 8 10/325 norcos a day off and on for close to a year. I hope that since I wasn't taking Norcos for "too long" and I haven't been on Subs "too long" that I might be able to escape with fairly minimal withdrawals.
Well as bad as I hate to see anyone go on subs, I think you made a wise choice! Woot Woot! Good for you dx!
Anyway, your body should only go thru minimal wds from the sub. Seeing as you are tapering yourself. As far as the norco wds... I'm not sure, but somebody else should be able to answer that one for ya.
When it comes to sub wds the only things that are really annoying are: cold sweats, constantly being cold, tremors, and rls, but you got this, so if I were you, I wouldn't worry about what could happen... just take each symptom in stride and try not to get frustrated, it's totally worth the out come! Trust me! Good hun, I'm routing for ya! Message me with your progress and most definitely keep posting!

Wow thats awesome news Star, so all in all you got off pretty easy using this method? Thanks for writing back guys
The physical part was easy. I stayed clean for 30 days and relapsed as the cravings took over me. I didn't have any aftercare. I am on day 7 of detox from opiates...Norco is the main one, for about a year and a half. I am taking Sub....started on 4mg 3 times a day and have been tapering down. I want to wean off by 2 weeks. You can do it! Just make sure you have have some kind of aftercare and or support system.
Is this your 1st time detoxing? If so, remember that the craving will ALWAYS be there. The sub is there just to get you through the physical w/d. Anxiety, fatigue, etc. can last months/years for some. Just be ready to deal with some of the mental aspects of w/d.
Yes this is my first attempt. The subs have really prepared me to be able to fight the cravings I believe. I never ever want to go through this again. It's not the lifestyle I want for myself! It feels so good to not have to be "chasing" pills everyday.
Good for you. It sounds like you are ready! Feel free to message me if you have any other questions or need any advice.

So today is my first day on only 2mg and I still feel great. Not sleeping well at night but that's ok. I really hope the withdrawals with me minor once I jump off.
Hi I was reading ur post and u said that u were on Subs two years ago for a short time and had no WDs . Can you explain how you did your two week taped to me. I am going to do the same.
can i ask how many youu have left and how far you plan to taper before you stop?
Glad to hear that you are ready to come off, i too have detowed off subs. can i ask you how many you have? Just so i can give you some pointers, if you want. Blue
Hey guys how are you all doing? Well today I jumped off from 1mg. I didn't taper off as good as I wanted because a buddy of mine stole some subs off me. Anyways, I caught the flu yesterday so I'm not sure if that's a bad or good thing? I've read that it's best to tell yourself while going through withdrawals that you just have the flu.... well I actually do lol. So far so good, the diarrhea is making it's triumph return but Imodium works great for that. Other than that I really can't complain. I know it takes a while for subs to get out of your system so it might get worse. I'm going to update this post everyday until I'm normal. OMG I CAN'T WAIT! What do you guys think? Will I go through horrible withdrawals because I didn't taper well enough? Or will I be ok because I was only on it for less than two weeks? I'm hoping the latter :(
Oh and the ironic part is the "buddy" of mine who I originally bought the subs off was the person who stole them back from me. Guess you can never trust a dealer huh?
One last thing, what do you guys use for sleep aid? I know you guys aren't doctors I'm just curious ;)
Well into day 2 and nothing horrible yet. Still fighting off my flu so I'm very weak. It's hard to tell what's causing my weakness and soreness. I'm starting to get that damn anxiety back a bit :( hopefully it doesn't get worse. I'm expecting things to get worse tomorrow and through the weekend. It ***** having to work, I wish I could get time off, I can't wait for the weekend I just want to relax! Oh and I have no desire to eat anything at all, might be the flu though.
Dx,
Congrats and hang in there. I went about 4 days without eating really much of anything. If you do have the flu, keep an eye on your fever and make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids. Try to eat bananas if you can or buy some protein drinks (Odwalla) is what I used. They are full of Vitamins and easier to get down than food. As far as sleep went, I had a prescription for Ambien. They make over the counter sleep aids. Benedryl is good too and since you have the flu it will help with your nose. Sleepy Time Tea works ok.
Texas is right. I personally take Melatonin because it is natural. I take mine an hour or so before I would lik to go to sleep and it works great, I dont get that hung over groggy feeling in the morning either that you get with some sleep aids.
Thanks guys! Have you both detoxed from Subs before? If so, how did it go? What can I expect given the amount of time I used them for (13 days)? I'm kind of worried that I jumped off at 1mg I was hoping to get lower.
I only know what I have read on these forums. I was taking 10-12 norcos per day weaned to a few then jumped. I was thinking of taking suboxone to quit but read too many horror stories on this forum. lol (Hope I didnt scare ya)
My doc was vicodin. I have no experience with subs I am sorry.
hi dx, i will be watching your posts as my bf at the moment is tapering on subatex he is on 16mg which hes been on 14 days, today hes goes to 14mg for 3 days, then 12mg for 3 days and so on. We have no control over his taper as he is supervised at the mo. I wanted him to taper over 21days but doc put him on a maintenance programme. When he asked to taper after 2 weeks they said they havent had anyone ask that before??? thats because most of the people there are on methadone i think! Anyway hope your feeling ok and good luck. I will be watching for tips. :)
