Day 11

No pills. Feeling ok. Excited about the future. I did drink a little bit last night, but it was a rough week, and I have not ever had a problem with drinking. I know that I have heard it's the gateway, but I still don't have any need for a pill.

Hey Sad1985, make it a goal to get to 100 hours and you will be a whole new person.  Lots of water, gatorade, amino acid protein shakes 2x a day (morning and afternoon), baths, showers, pool, get some sun.  Day 4 go for a walk and sweat a little.  day 5 sweat more.  Watch movies during the rough patches, or find something to do.  Anything to sort of skip you ahead a few hours without laying idle.  You will be at 100 hours before you know it and there is a huge happy side at 100 hours, at least for me.

days 2-3 were worst for me. day 4 i was almost withdrawl symptom free.  The part you need to worry about is the cravings day 4 and 5 are pretty strong to want to take one because you are feeling better.  Just fight through that and day 6-??? you will have some small cravings and over a year they should subside all together from what I have read.  BUT, now we are addicts, we could fall back at ANY time.    So even in a year, stay stong.

I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be drinking while on the subs.  Be careful with that.

I saw 2 red flags here.......You said you had drank some last night, had a rough week.  There is always going to be rough weeks.  We have to learn how to deal with tough times chemical free.  Not everyone is like me in this sense as some can have a drink here and there.  I cant do that.  I have no off button.  Just be very careful.  Alcohol can sneak up on you and it grabs you by the short hairs and takes you down......You are on sub, are you really supposed to be mixing alcohol with that?

You can drink in moderation on suboxone, ask your doctor, everyone is different  but even if you look up interactions between subs and alcohol its moderate. If you overdo it, you can feel dizzy or sleepy, but unless you have an issue with alcohol, having a couple on a Friday night should be ok. No I'm not a doctor, but have plenty of experience with  suboxone. You're doing great, hang in there, keep going to your meetings and hope this is all behind you soon.

I couldn't disagree more (i'm sorry) - but do NOT drink when taking the subs.  It could kill you.

Thanks Jackie. I sure don't plan on making a habit of it, I haven't had so much as 1 beer in a very long time and I had 4 last night. I think I will try and make it a rare occasion. Thanks everyone for your concern.

Hey Randy
Just saw this.  You are definitely in a better place than you were a couple of weeks ago.  Keep talking to your doctor and let him decide when to taper.  You havent been doing a good job doctoring yourself, so listen to him.
Much love
Pat

Crazy .. There is a fire just over the hills from me. If the wind shifts it could hit a major population in Manitou springs... I may be getting the voluntary evacuation.

You stay safe and make sure you have some things ready in case you need to leave! Thinking of you and praying that everything turns out ok! Take care!!
