scary reaction to marijuana

I am 48 and have never previously used drugs.  Very recently a friend was smoking a joint and I stupidly thought 'what the hell' and gave it a try.  The reaction I experienced gave me a hell of a fright.  After about 15 minutes I started to feel very light headed, but the feeling continued to grow until I had to sit, then lean forward with my head on my arms, on my desk.  I could physically not lift my head or move any parts of my body.  My friend, who was having a fat time, high as a kite, thought I was playing around for a while, before getting worried.  To cut a long story short, I remained completely incapacitated for about an hour and a half before I could move my head.  The entire time I was vomiting without control.  At no time did I feel the mysterious 'high' that people talk about, not that I care about that now.  About two hours later I was sort of OK again and now a few days later I feel normal again.  I take pristiq 100 and wondered if that could have caused my reaction or are there people like me who just don’t have the capacity to use drugs?  This is merely for my edification as you may have guessed I'm going to limit my 'highs' to riding my motor bike ridiculously fast, and will be staying away from all drugs except adrenalin from now on.
