What is happening ?

I am addicted to Oxycontin..and a few years back someone that I know suggested the methadone program.I was very reluctant..as I didn't wan't to be a slave to this alternetive for the rest of my life.Oh boy,I wish I would have listened to my gut feeling.I was diagnosed with a heart condition call..Extra systoles and told by the doctor that it was more of an annoyance than life theatening,but I could die from it if my heart started to beat to fast..to long.Now,what happened with this methadone doctor infuriates me.I told her about my heart condition and how it was very sensitive to even over the counter medications..like antihistamine.Anyway,the day I went to see her I had already taken my whole days worth of oxycontin.But she decided that I should be dosed that day anyway..which of-course I was uncofortable with..mainly becqause of my sensitive heart.I kept on asking her if I could go home for the week-end so I could be hanging out by monday.She insisted that I take a 45ml dose when I already had 4-20mg's in my that day.When I first took the dose ( NOTHING )But after 5 hours when I was waving and smiling at my daughter from the window..my heart started to pound.I didn't panick..as I knew it was not an anxiety attack.But,I did get my fiancee to feel my heart and he was shocked at how fast and powerful the beats were.I had a friens there with valium and serapax and she said that it should help slow down the THUMPING of my heart.Yes,It did just that.During a whole week I kept taking myself off the valium to see if my heart had slowed at all,but nope.It was pounding as hard as it was on the first day.What has she done ? Yers later I am still relying on the benzos

HI and welcome to the forum ....so you only took methadone once ?? and you feel as though it did some sort of damage to your heart or heart rate ??...this is a new one for me
although methadone can make your heart beat pound but usually only wile its still in your system....mixing benzo's and any narcotic is dangerous ..it can lead to respiratory failure
you got real lucky mixing it with methadone although its done thats a deadly combo
so if I understand you post correctly your not consirend with the oxy but rather the benzo
?? if thats the case you need to taper off them slowly under a dr supervision so as not to risk seizures....please clarify what your asking here we like to help but are a bit confused .......Gnarly

So your doctor gave you one dose of methadone while you were taking oxy's, then your heart started pounding so your friends gave you benzo's and you have a heart condition?  Does your doctor give you benzos now or do the friends?

Yeah...I'm confused.  One dose of Methadone and your heart is beating rapidly for years and you treat it with benzos??

Are you saying that you only took one dose of Methadone? If that is what I read, something does not sound right. After years of this, haven't you seen a cardiologist? You really should. You need to get to the bottom of this. If I am interpreting this wrong, please correct me.
