What is kratom?

Does it help with withdrawals? Is it addictive?

it sounds to me like a herbal medicine, honestly what I read of it is that the response to it is different for different people.  Either stimulating or seditative depending on the dose.  I highly suggest staying away from it due to the long lists of unknowns.

STAY AWAY FROM THAT!!!!! Yes it's addictive.  Sure it will help with your withdrawal because it is a synthetic opiate.  It acts on the brain the same way as any other opiate.  It is marketed as "herbal and safe" but that is far from the truth.

Hey! Guess who? Kratom is a plant from S.E. Asia from the Coffee family. They grind the bark into a fine powder. It is banned in Thailand, Malaysia, Burma and Australia (although these countries grow and export it under license,) It is used as Methadone replacement in New Zealand. It is legal to import it and use in this country though it is currently on the DEA watch list. It is not classed as a narcotic but it hits the same receptors. It is not as euphoric as 'real' opiates unless you are opiate 'naive'. I used it abstemiously after my Methadone/Sub. detox to mitigate the horrible symptoms. It is short acting and tolerance builds pretty quickly. I let it go after a little over a month. Note: the concentrated extracts and Kratom pills that are sold are sometimes adulterated w/ other things (God knows what.) Hope this helped some. You can PM me re: this if you want more info.
