What's a good suboxone taper

For the past 2 years I've been on methadone and I tapered down to 20 mgs and then switched to suboxone last Friday. For the past 6 days I've been on 12 mg of suboxone and I want to taper off slowly but don't know how slow. Does anyone have ne advice? Ty

people that are interested about tapering suboxone have two choices. One ask your physician or go to the suboxone website: suboxone.com, and click on the "I am a physician" link, and there u can find the recomended taper plan from the maker of suboxone, which most Dr. usually follow to taper down their patients.

I didn't suggest a taper form. I'm currently in nursing school and I know better. I did say that you have to discuss this w/ your Dr. All I mentioned was to get out and excercize, and told the person to talk to their Dr. about vitamins and their taper plan-

It's just against forum rules for someone to post a taper schedule. Not only is it against the rules, it can be dangerous. The dosages that work for one person may be dangerous for another. You wouldn't dare think of suggesting dosages for blood pressure meds or heart medication, right? Well, suggesting dosages for Suboxone can be just as dangerous. Nobody that's been here any length of time hasn't had a post removed. I'd probably have 10 starts if all of mine were left :)

Why was my comment taken off? I thought this board was to suport one another, and how can I if you always come along taking off my posts? Are you on suboxone? I know and did say this is a program that you plan w/ your DR... I just do not understand you always taking off other ppl's comments. I have had many friends mention this.

well i would ask him to make you up a plan the idea  The basics of a taper is take small drops wait until your body adjusts to the drop. When you dont have any more wds from it and then do it again wait again until your body adjusts .Then drop again until you you are off the sub.

I did discuss this with my doctor he told me when I'm ready I can start my taper for however long I feel I need to taper. I was just trying to see what everyone else had done. To get an idea.
