When does the energy return

I have been going to a pain management dr for several years and am currently at the astonishing level of 240 norco and 90 oxy 80's. monthly.  unfortunately the monster got away from me and I would abuse this amount and they would be gone in as little as two weeks   I am so tired of pill counting and having no energy for 1-2 weeks before next refill.   I am down to one oxy 80 a day ( I know still a lot)  and can make it until next fill but don't want to keep doin this. Been 10 years.  How long before I will Get some energy back. The sweats , aches and runs suck but the wd malaise is the part I really hate. Suggestions appreciated I don't want to do suboxone as it is just another thing to get past when done.  I got some supplies for the Thomas recipe today ... I want off this pain train man!

Thx for the encouragement I am very ready and have fought this for along time. I fear the taper since I don't have the self control anymore and frankly if its there I will likely take it. Ending up cold turkey by proxy. So I guess when I taper down on what few I have left the battle for getting my life back will begin. I usually sleep ok.  It's the tired yawning and constant feeling of slogging through waist deep mud just to go from one room to the next that I hate.  I really hope the Thomas recipe will help out even a little
Thx guys. Will check back in as it goes. Good luck to all

Hi & Welcome!

Congrats on wanting to unboard the pain train!  The fatigue is one of the worst symptoms, besides not being able to sleep that most everyone one of us couldn't stand.  I would feel like I was moving through a heavy fog and my whole body felt like led.   I couldn't stop yawning and I got to the point where every time a yawning spell hit I would get so angry.  Mostly because they reminded me of what I was going through.  I'd just want to curl up somewhere and go to sleep.   As far as 'when' energy returns.  It is different for everyone and depends alot on what was used and for how long.  Although most report around 30 days feeling like themselves.  Others feel lit lag for a while longer.   You are doing a great thing for yourself and as long as you keep your eye on the prize you can do this.   Stick around here too for support when you need it.
