It's not all or nothing. That's just not realistic. The chances that an addict will never ever take a pill again is .1% You have to be able to use once in a while in order to really be in control of it. Any addicts out there who say they will never touch again are setting themselves up for failure--and all it is an insecurity about their addiction. When they eventually do use, they will be crushed and revert back to doing it all the time.
If one truly is in control of something, they can use once in a while.
Here's what you need to do. If you are physically addicted right now, you do need to take some time totally clean. Say one month.
Tell yourself, I will go one month clean, then see how I feel and go from there. People who say never again have the wrong idea--it's too overwhelming and stressful.
weird to see you post here today, ive been kinda MIA but was just thinking about you this morning, wondering where ya been and how you are doing! weird how stuff like that happens alot. Anyhow, wishing you the best getting through this again. I relapsed too after 90 days clean myself. It sucks so bad, and ive been terribly ill with bronchitis/asthma and abuse/relations problems on top of that, ugh. so how are YOU doing otherwise? lol
I have quit. I never went back to the Morphine thankfully and the longest period of contentious use was this time at two weeks. Also I did not get back to large amounts so w/d are limited to ab cramps and feeling like a bone head.lol
Hang in there, bud...I'm on Day 3, too....let's do this thing together! Day 3 finished at 3pm today...lol! So, technically, I'm on Day 4? lol
travel ,
I am gald to see you .I wish it wasn't for this reason but I am glad to see you .Aftercare really is soooooo important .I went from April of last year until the middle of aug clean with 0 aftercare. Then in aug I had a three week relapse .After that I figured out as great as this forum is and it surly does help keep me on track I really needed some type of counseling face to face. It has really helped .I was 8 months clean yesterday.Have you quit again or or you about too?

I know what you mean about the pain after. I had chronic back pain too.
After i stopped using for about a week, the pain actually went away.
Also i lived in the midwest with pretty high humidity all the time. So i moved out west where it is dry and very low humidity. My back never bothers me anymore at all now.
Yes, At the time I guess that sounded good. But I would think that you would still have trouble being in w/d's when you were not taking them. Or that the addiction took back over, and it was down hill from there...
I hope you are feeling better, good luck...
If you were taking them for pain, then I understand why you had that plan. I just stopped and already my pain (back) is severe and in my mind I am trying to come up with a similar plan. From what I have read on this forum....we can not do that....it is all or nothing. The sad thing is, when we took them for legitimate pain, the pain comes back and what is our recourse? Good luck
