I apologise for venting, its just so frustrating not only for the recovering addict, but their families, friends and anyone else that cares for them as well. We are the ones that watch their loved ones suffer, go through hell, desparately try to get their lives back on track, pick up the pieces when something goes wrong, attempt to carry on doing the normal things, like run a home. (Ok, I am aware that a lot dont have this and they end up on their own) I just happen to feel really ticked off, that the ppl you expect to have the information, dont and noone really seems to look at the broader picture of what happens to partners, children, parents, during all of it.

That makes me so sad...I am just glad you both have found this, and more information then you have been getting..But i would keep searching, there has to be some doctors that know more..Because here, some know nothing about addiction, and some are great!!
Good luck with everything!!

well, if you come to think that i'm also the only one from spain and i'm here bcause i didn't find any forum at all for us in my country with addicts talking to other addicts and sharing experiences, it's quite scary and it's a wonder some people get educated at all just by their doctors advise...when many of them are here "because" of them.
just think that we're lucky to have found it.
