Will I WD from Suboxone even if I'm on it short-ter

Ok, so Mon am was my last percocet. Was taking 20 a day. I started suboxone Monday night. I feel fine on it but do not want to stay on it. I want off everything. Can u tell me, if I am only on it a couple weeks, will I have WD if I taper off???

Being on Suboxone is a whole program of recovery or should be. The drug is just one component. There's also counseling, therapy, meetings, out patient rehab,etc... The drug works for addiction because t keeps the withdrawal at bay allowing you to concentrate completely on your recovery.  In this situation,it works very well.

Look back in the archives about members who have done a long trial and then taper from Sub. There's some great information in some of those threads!!

I thought I had read, the shorter time u r  on it, the less likely u were to have WD? Yes I am getting it from a dr but he didn't give me much info, just a lecture and a script. He wanted me to go in hospital for 5 day for rapid detox. But I bedded him to let me be at home. FML. so I'm gonna have to miss work all over agin when I go off! I am suppose to be taming 8 am/8 pm. I'm only taking 6/6.  I really felt like I didn't need it so I went down and was fine.

Jo-  Do some more research on your own...don't just take my word for it. You can also speak with your doctor.

Suboxone definitely has it's place but try to learn about it...don't be scared. It won't hurt you and just taper down very low before you stop it.

Hello I Was just put on suboxone for hydro addiction. After reading your post I got really scared bc I wasn't aware of the fact that you will have the same detox symptoms from suboxone as you would the narcotic you are trying to get clean from !?!!! Wow that is not good news ;(

Yes,you'll have withdrawal similar to the withdrawal from the percocet. That's what it does;it only postpones everything. If you're on it for a longer period of time and you taper small amounts over a long period of time, the withdrawal will be less but you'll still have symptoms.

Good luck and give the doctor a call for more information...

not sure as everyone's different when it comes to suboxone. may i ask if your getting these from a doctor? what dosage are you taking?

as far as tapering goes, you need to start tapering now as the percocets are outta your system by now. are you getting any kind of aftercare?
