6 Months Methadone Free!!!

After 18 years on methadone I have made it to 6 months of a methadone free life & it is truly wonderful.  It was so hard & it took so long to get past the withdrawal symptoms that were brutal & seemed like they would last forever.  But once they started to subside (around the 90 day mark things started to get a little better every day) I started to feel better & better & better & now I feel great!  Definitely the hardest thing I have ever done in my whole life, but also the most rewarding.  Anyone who is struggling at this moment trying to get past a drug dependent existence, please hang in there & know in your heart that despite the pain & suffering you will finally come to place in life that is so worth the struggle to get there.  I had my 41st B-Day on Sun & it was my 1st completely drug free B-Day since I was 18 years old.   I promise you that if I can do it, so can you.  Hang in there & keep telling yourself that this misery will pass and when it does it is like starting a whole new life!

HEY congrats to you....6mo is ausum it great to see someone else make it to the other side
methadone is a monster to kick and your time line was like mine right arond 90days thing finely started looking a bit brighter your doing great for 6 mo and its only going to get better
I got 380 days now and life is a beautiful place once again...good luck and God bless

Absolutely incredible......I have the utmost respect for anyone who got away from methadone.  I have personal experience on just how difficult this process is and you are truly an inspiration.  Keep it moving forward.
