how long did you quit 7 months ago b4 you started back?
When my habit was at it's worst, I was taking up to 20 10/325 narco/day - that is the equivalent of 40 perks/day since they are usually 5/325. I knew that the tylenol was bad too, but would take up to 10 at one time - whew! I am lucky. I then got stuck on Suboxone for nearly 4 years, which worked great until I tried to taper. The withdrawal from that was much worse. I finally ended up doing a medically assisted detox in June - it was the best thing I have ever done. 77 days clean today and I feel awesome! I know that perks can really make you feel good, but believe me, your habit will get worse because you will need more to feel the same way as your tollerance increases. If you want to get clean, stick around, we will support you.
Thank you for your replies I feel like i have someone to talk to now. If have taken pills off and on. First found them when my husband had brain tumors (cancer) he was prescribed tons of vics and oxys for the pain. He never took them but I did, not knowing that i will become addicted. I stopped after they ran out so that was about 7 months and then picked up again when i learned of a dealer that had neck injury so he was prescribed a bunch and still is. I try to keep the dose of 2 to 3 because i know of the tylenol being bad for you. I havent gotten over that amount thank god, thus far anyway. How much has everyone else gotten to and for how long? I want to scare myself into quitting as everyone knows it really hard when you feel good after taking them. Thanks :)
Remember me, the one who is on hydro 1 1/2 years and was having a hard time getting down from 4=7.5's per day. I took your advise and set up a schedule on tapering and made it through yesterday dropping 1 = 3. I felt leg discomfort and a little nervous, had a really busy day at work which was actually a blessing, didn't have time to think about it. My sleep was interrupted but I made it through. Most importantly I did set "A STOP DATE". I did that with booze and cigg's and it does make you more accountable. Thanks for your advise. So far so good, now it's up to me.
u should be fine..u may not notice many wd symptoms at all....careful on the xanax as it is habitforming..a powerful benzo...take the least u can for sleep or anxiety..my dose was more than 3 x urs and i felt flu-like for 3-4 days,,people fear wds big time/fear paralyzes u...the hard part is staying away from the drugs after u quit..so if u r an addict..ie using for the buzz or to feel normal..then it will need someplanning to stay clean after u quit
what r the reasons u want to quit?
have u done this whole parade before//quitting and restarting
r u an addict?
Lost come into play..3 percs a day...if they r 10 mgs then that is an easy ct dose to stop..u could taper down 0.5 mgs a week but tapering is hard for an addict...pick a quit day..it helps..good luck and keep posting
Steph, 3 percs per day is not really that large of a dose. The withdrawal you experience will totally depend on how long you have been taking them and if you are truely addicted to them. My recommendation would be to taper off them slowly, reduce to 2.5 for a few days, then 2, then 1.5, and so on until you are down to nothing, the withdrawal will be minimal. Xanax will help some in keeping you more relaxed and may help with sleep. Good luck, I wish you success in becoming clean.
