Withdrawls From Norco

Hello- I have read so many post in the last 24 hours!!! It will be 48 hours at the end of the night since I have been off of norco. My doctor refused to fill my prescription, so I'm out of norco for almost two weeks!!! we have discussed me stopping these pills by taking a little at a time but i still took 3-4 a day, so that is why i ran out really soon! i cant believe she would just leave me cold-turkey!!! anyway, im trying to look at this a positive and leave norco alone for good, if i can last two weeks going through the withdrawls, there is no way im going back to norco!!! what would be the point especially when im forced to go through what i feared the most. im really scared of the withdrawls symptoms. i keep getting the chills and getting hot....i could not sleep last night and wanted to cry!! i tossed and turned in the bed all night it was extra strange and i feel like a dope fien! im just really wanting to know when this is will be over, some people say 5-7 days and i hope so. i got up this morning and walked on my treadmill for about 30mins and felt pretty good about that! i juiced some cucumbers, strawberries, celery and carrots and drunk that for breakfast. it is strange that i really dont have a appetite at all! i forgot to mention that i have been on norco for 8 months so that is why i feel crappy. my body aches (mainly my legs) and i get some weird pains in my upper back. the only thing i can think to do is workout in the moring and try to keep my mind off the pain. i really want to know how long it last though. thanks for your help

Thank you! I will go and grab some stuff from GNC! that store motivates me as well, to be healthy. yes, i ran out of norco so i have no choice but to be clean. my doctor refuses to refill the prescription for two weeks and im going to tell her to never fill it again!! i want and will have my life back! i never ever thought this would happen to me, i was afraid of pain meds. everytime i think about it, i tear up and want to cry. it hurts me to see other people hurting as well as myself. i want to encourage people and keep them motivated to let them kknow they can do it! right now im going through and need the encouragement, so that i can also be an encouragement for others. God Bless!

Well....It sounds like your usage was not super high so you should start turning the corner any day.  You just have to stick with it!  If you can drink lots of orange juice mixed in with water will help, hydration is the key!  I would crawl down to GNC and get some Valarian Root and some Melatonin, fish oil, 100% weigh protein mix, SAM-e, and some Imodium.  The Valarian can be taken all day to help with the restless leg and also get some Potassium or Magnesium....This too will help with the restlessness.  Take a double dose of Valarian and about 20-30 mg's of melatonin at night and make sure you are in a completely dark and comfortable room and you will get some sleep.  Try taking the protein shakes twice a day and blend up a banana in it as well if you can.  Take a strong multivitamin and the rest of the SAM-e and fish oil throughout the day in normal doses.

Exercise is your one friend at this point.  The valarian and melatonin acts as a great anti-oxidant that help your body purge the remaining opiates and free raticals.  Once you are clean, your brain can start the healing process!  It is important to be completely COLD TURKEY and not take just a few for relief, it just makes the process that much longer.  I promise that if you combine all of these supplements and get as much exercise as possible, this will pass quickly!  The key will be to STAY sober once you start feeling better.  Many people think that once the physical withdrawals are over they are clear but they are WRONG!!!  Aftercare (NA or AA) is important to build your awareness of warning signs of relapse and helps with support.....You can do this and only time will heal but the more you put into detox will determine what you get out of it.....Many will come along with words of encouragement but this is an extremely personal struggle and ONLY YOU can make the decision to quit!  Good luck and keep  posting!
